SL/R230: Trouble shooting very low power on 05 SL600. No codes!!
How would I know if the inter cooler is working 100%?
Car idled smooth drives smooth but when you get on it it’s 10% what it was before.
I just changed the right side coil pack.
codes showed right bank misfire on all cylinders.
Did not help. Turned out it was the voltage transformer. Also changed all 24 plugs.
No codes! Sounded good! I took it for a ride.
No power when you get on it.
Discovered broken MAP. Ordered one.
Put it on. Same thing. No power!
Discovered wrong MAP.
Ordered correct MAP. Waiting. Fingers crossed!!
You can easily check it, its right on top of the engine, above the voltage transformer. In my case there was an error code stored in the ECU, but i believe it can be the same with no codes shown.
The sensor itself can be ok, but connecting hose can be damaged.
you’ll never guess this one!
It’s very strange! I called an Independent MB shop
and they said it was a coincidence!
Cue the Twilight Zone music!

I did the service B but forgot how to reset it.
Everytime I would drive it I would try to reset it and thought I did but when I started it the next time, there it was.
So, while I was going to bring it to an independent repair shop the next day I went up you tube and found out how do do it again (good old you tube).
I was sitting in the driveway after I had just returned from a disappointing test run, reset the service B and started off to the repair shop.
On the way there I got on it again and “Eureka “
the BadMobile was back alive!
I was amazed!! All I did was reset the service B.
I called the MB service shop, Fritz & Hans, told them the story and they said No Way!
That’s my story and I’m stickin to it!!

And I told my wife I wanted to see what happens when I reach a year past due.
Now I think I'll wait until 500 days and see if this sets a limp mode!
