I was debating about doing same thing, and i had 2 reasons for that - it's way cheaper than buying off the market and that would allow to get me an AMG rather a regular 500/550. And i would do that only if i'd get to keep it a long time, a really long time. The only downside is selling it - besides these cars not being the most popular on the market, try to find someone who would buy a salvaged MB with that many complicated systems, especially ABC.... I didn't bite the bullet

How much did you pick that up for? Because i've seen 03 SL500 in my area go for as low was $6000 in running condition. If i were to do something like that, i'd buy a 55 at least, goal would be a 65.

I'll be going over prices in a future video. Near me, the lowest priced SL500 with similar mileage (24k more miles than mine) is listed for $10,000, private sale. I already have an SL55 AMG as well, this is it.

Where are you located? I'm in VA/DC i have a 2007 AMG front bumper that's cracked in the bottom, should be an easy repair, and a rear non amg bumper, i'll donate to the project.

I really do appreciate that so much but I've already purchased an AMG front bumper as well as repaired the rear bumper! I'll be showing both of those in the next video!

It's a fun little project as long as you don't get something too far gone! I rebuilt a 2014 Tacoma a couple of years back and it turned out awesome!

FX, I am also restoring a 2003 Sl500 and in my part of the country, they are scarce are hens teeth.
Could you let me know if you would be interested in selling your extra front bumper.
