2004 R230, multi contour seat issue

I'm trying to figure out why my seats are not adjusting.
I removed the fuse for the air pump to reset the system. I can hear air in the seats, but the seats to not move/adjust. I removed the passenger seat and inspected the line. No cracks. Before removing the driver seat, I thought I would ask everyone if they had ran into this? The pump seems to be working. I can hear air in the seat. Is it likely the bladders in the seat are leaking? Is thee a method to test this?
Thanks!

You should start by checking the drivers seat first. The air line cracks from moving the seat back and forth. I would assume the drivers side gets moved 2 or 3 times more than the passenger side.

You can raise the seat all the way up, get your ear as close to the bottom as you can. Then push the buttons and listen for a leak. I could hear mine. If you wiggle the loom around it might make it louder.

If you can hear air in the seat, take the seatback off and check out the hoses.

Hi, can you explain how to remove the seat back? I want to remove my support but I'm afraid to break some anchor.

The other possiblility is the seam of an air bladder has failed. This happened to me on both seats when I did not release the air in them prior to working on the front lock cylinder. Replacements are scarce and expensive. I temporarily plugged the supply lines to both and no longer have the PSE pump constantly running.

You really should get a copy of WIS it’s like $15 on eBay and has all of the work instructions.

From what I remember there were two torx screws on the seatback itself under the fabric that wraps around the bottom.

The fabric is attached to a hard rectangular piece that clicks into a channel up under the seat. If you put your hands up underneath the bottom of the seat, you can feel it. Gently work it out of the groove until it comes out and then flip up the fabric to expose the screws.

Once the screws are out, the seatback comes off by sliding it either downwards or upwards, I don’t remember for sure. I’m almost positive it’s upwards. Just be gentle, it should slide off easily in the correct direction.

There might be a plastic panel on the side of the seat, down by the bottom that will get in your way. I think WIS said to remove it, but I cannot remember what I did. It’s still visible in the bottom corner of my pic, so I must have not taken it off completely.

Would using a smoke machine to detect leaks be a good idea or not?
