If by "convince battery" you mean consumer battery, you can get aftermarket batteries, but either way, you're looking at about $300. These are AGM batteries that are designed to operate in "deep discharge" mode.

I gave replacement for front and rear

The larger VARTA battery will work, but it's still the wrong one for this application. Mercedes spec'd AGM construction for the rear battery.
In addition to Walmart another good alternative is Advance Auto Parts. If you place an order online you typically get about a 20% discount, and this brings the cost of a battery from them in line with the one from Walmart.

@pmercury if you're going to make purchasing suggestions you should always consider the location of the user you're making the suggestions to. Oh, and the link you posted is still for just the starter battery, not the consumer.
ADVANCE AUTO
AGM, exact fit exceeds OE amperage. $199 on their web site with 3 year free replacement warranty. Just go shopping on their web site... look long enough and they will pop in with a 20% and sometimes 25% discount when ordered on line and picked up in store. Only suggestion I would make is when you pick it up at store, check manufacture date. They will keep batteries on the shelf for 90 days, and, while that may be ok, I usually ask them to pull one with a more recent manufacture date

they never made batteries and just relabel
and is marked as "starter battery"
battery life is standard 5 years
also, here in Europe, where I moved, the Varta is given as replacement but many other companies make them over the world
here is another one with same specs as AMG
at least it might help some Europeen owners to get one

Do you even pay attention to what you're posting or maybe even the part about this thread being about the consumer battery, NOT THE STARTER BATTERY.
Here is your latest posted link:

R230 Dual Battery system
The battery part code you posted A 230 541 00 01, is for the STARTER battery, not the auxiliary/consumer battery in the trunk (or boot if you prefer). That battery is a 12V 70Ah, part# A 004 541 8601
Can you guys please stop fighting? It’s really boring for everyone else.
There’s plenty of info for the original poster to look at already, and I’m sure they’ll post again if they haven’t got the info they want, or want to clarify which battery they refer to?
if you really want to get into a debate about the accuracy of posts why don’t you do the respectful thing and do it between yourselves via private messages rather than out in public? Alternatively if you feel that strongly about a post why not just contact the Mods and let them sort it?
