I want to purchase one of the DAS STAR systems off of eBay (China Knock-off)
I have read several post online and watched several YouTube Video's. As you might guess there are all kinds of opinions.... and "be careful" warnings.
Just looking for some insight from someone that has bought one of these.... and how well it works (or doesn't work).
Also was wondering if the ABC system can be reset with these systems and if you can put the car on "boogie" mode (for lack of a better term) to flush the fluid like they do at the dealer.

You got the best answer you could get in post #2 from Benz ninja. I went the China route (not knowing any better), and in spite of doing a ton of research I still ended up with garbage software and not the best hardware. Then I came across Benz ninja and had him convert my system to his software. Incredible install and support. There simply isn’t a better solution available.
I have this one, had a spare laptop to dedicate to it. Like a lot of China purchases, documentation was not great, but seller was very good at working with me to get everything set up and working. It is a complete hard drive replacement, so I had to find a couple of drivers to put back on, but I would say that my IT skills are no better than moderate and I was able to get everything up and running. I have probably run 20+ quick tests and many other module scans and actuations on 4 R230's and a W221. So far, it has done everything I need it to do. You can buy cheaper on Ali, but Ebay with US shipping and 30 day return is worth quite a bit for this type of purchase. YMMV and others will have their own opinions, but it worked for me.

a lie in the tittle already, how can anyone trust someone who sells a SL350 as a SL65 ?
A real C5 has a hard drive with xp inside
the real C5 software was discontinued by MB on 2020.06

Since You asked, I will share my own experience. Bought mine through Aliexpress (Shop smart). I bought the turn key system (Don't want too much headache) about a year ago. Came with C4, Mux(cables), used Dell D630 with 4G ram, SSD hard drive, Not a VM system so its faster. None of the systems came with instructions so if you are not comfortable with computer, it may be a problem.
Cost me about less than $600. Reasonable shipping time (may be a month if I remember correctly). Somewhat helpful seller if I ask (but I figured it out in time). So far I used it to fix/troubleshoot SLK (R170), SL (R230, R129), Crossfire (same as SLK) convertible top, ABC Rodeo, Reset error codes, Lowered ride height, assign keyless go key slot, Brake Pads ...etc. So far so good. The store is OBD2Device Auto Diagnostic tools Factory. Just so you know. Do your own judgement. Good Luck!

The incredible below low profile unnamed ram and ssd they put in those 30$ dell's, hacked windows, all this explains the low price (most don't even use ssd's )
do your own judgement, after all, if you want to save the price of 1 tire,

Das 2008 is in NO way the the best release for MY2009, this is just a 1000x repeated trolling lie. as you can't even update your modules nor go online in the first place.

Peter's system was a significant improvement over the diagnostic kit I bought from a reputable source in the UK. At the moment I am running a mix between the hardware from the UK and his install on a spare Lenovo laptop I have (with a few upgrades).
Specifically, the biggest differences:
-Muchfaster to load and run the diagnostic tools.
-WIS built in, allowing me to access key information without leaving my garage or running two machines.
These upgrades, coupled with the lifetime support, are worth it, IMHO.
I am very supportive of these services on here because I've been around the automotive scene long enough (and across enough different platforms) to recognize quality that stands out.
For anyone looking for a top shelf tool, this is it.
For anyone looking for something much more budget friendly, Foxwell makes some very nice diagnostic tools at a fraction of the cost.
The problem with the "AliExpress Specials" is that it is a complete coin toss. Best case scenario, you get a slow tool with limited support. Worst case, assuming it arrives, you get complete junk.

I bought 2. 1 from China and 1 off of Ebay. Both sucked. Both garbage. Contacted Peter (Benz Ninja) and never looked back. Take your chances with junk or do it right the first time.
It is overwhelming the feedback from Buyers of garbage who have joined the ranks of the BenzNinja Organization. Peter is the best, the equipment works, and the support is outstanding. Those naysayers repeat the same mantra about the cost with no viable alternative. Ignore them that is my Xentry Advice.
Here's another good reading material. Hope this helps. If you are not comfortable with Hardware/Software. Sometimes buying a support unit may be a better choice.

This, and your other posts, are pointless. This community, and other forums, deserve to know from real customers what is out there to diagnose and service their cars. So as a potential customer, when I found numerous threads of you conducting personal attacks on anyone who offers up an alternative to your service, it led me to reconsider. You are a paid sponsor, and you are operating a business, and I never begrudge someone who is trying to make money. BUT, you also have to consider that this is a FREE internet forum where people come to solicit FREE advice for the repair of their car. While it's fair to note that buying any Chinese hardware has risk (even those you recommend), it's not a good look to vigorously go after anyone who offers up a lower cost alternative to your services. There are many people who have purchased a complete STAR system from China that are perfectly happy with them, what you offer very well may be better but it's also more expensive. Going after anyone who offers an alternative only makes it look like your product isn't actually worth the money.

1 I am same price or cheaper if you buy the Chinese stuff from ebay. but you have me included and warranty
2 ALL the software, all over the web from ANY of these stores are incomplete. the DO NOT have the functions I provide with my setup
3 I do not force anyone to buy my service, I even posted the solution to buy the exact hardware I provide sources for multiple time
4 If I would not be tailed by this INFAMOUS TROLL, I would not be posting sometimes excessive words. Just check history, you will see that each time the TROLL gets hiss *** kicked, he leaves for a while and ambiance is great again.
5 I help and helped out many many members by remote, on their ****ty bugging Chinese 100$ software, repairing the software a little before I was even able to use it as it should. I NEVER charged any.
The point is that ALL my users, ALL the workshops represent me and post all over the place what their experience was
and the result is, that many used several self installed, the Chinese and any other versions and source. They all, ALL say that my work is the best ever, far superior over all these
This said, anyone is free and my now over 200 members club is growing like hell. 1000% delighted customers and some now friends. And I am proud

@bobterry99 You are not the only senior/experienced member in the picture and that post of yours about Peter exploiting people who are "lacking knowledge" is silly.
Frankly, you forfeit the right to play the objective individual who's just presenting all options when you refer to someone with perfect customer satisfaction as a charlatan, especially considering that you have zero direct experience with his solution.
That said, to address where you are coming from:
-STAR clones from China have been around forever, so anyone new to this who spends a few minutes researching will know that solution exists.
-I'm sure most, if not all, who purchased Peter's system knew about it too.
