Storage Nets - 2005 SL600

This is going to sound stupid, but I cannot figure out how to install the storage nets in the trunk of my 2005 SL600. I have three nets and none of the connectors seem to be in the right places for how I think they should go. Does anyone have a picture of these installed in their trunks. If so please feel free to email me at kynio@sevenhillsrealty.com.

Thanks.

By the way I have had this for about 3 weeks now and have absolutely enjoyed the car to date, with no problems at all. If you want to check it out go to http://www.sevenhillsrealty.com/2005_SL600.htm

Missing Hooks

What was confusing me, was the left side of the trunk does not have the same hooks that the right side does. I am not sure, but it looks like they added a green trunk release button in the trunk and covered where the hooks would normally be on the left side. The way it is now there is no place to attach anything on the left side of the trunk.

The delaer installed my nets differently. The net that is facing your trunk opening in on the other side of the tray facing the cabin in my car.

same here Tiggerfink....I have the longest net on the backside of the trunk space...then one on the right hand side of the trunk and the last one across the bottom.

One note about the one across the bottom - don't keep it set up all the time...even just sitting on the carpeting it'll put a waffle into the pile. I keep two the corners hooked and can install the other two when I need to use it...

I was looking at www.mbusa.com and saw the rear net like in BlueSL picture. I guess that net can fit in the rear or front. I saw the net for the driver side of the trunk. I will order that net and another rear net. When I have my plastic trunk tray in, I take out the bottom net. I recommend you all to get the plastic trunk tray, SL bag, and the rubber floor mats. I was able to put my wife's makeup case and other stuff in the SL rear shelf bag on our trip to Atlanta. I guess next time when I go to Atlanta, I will ask Gunther where do tourist go.

3 nets came with my car. BlueSL has all the nets that came with my car in the picture.

By the way, nice car. Wife tought the SL600 was too fast, so we got the SL500.

Mine are fitted exactly as the instruction leaflet which came with them. It's possible things have changed with model year, I don't have a green release button, for example. You have to remove some existing fittings and replace them with the hooks that come with then nets, using the hex wrench to do it. There are not empty holes waiting for you to use.

I'm sure it's set up so that you can use them to your best advantage. For my car all the hooks were pre-installed and that's why I put the one net on the backside of the trunk rather than on the front side like BlueSL has his...

how much do the trays run???

Not expensive, about $50. It's a pity the floor net cannot be installed on top of the tray...
