Today I received the service manual that I found on eBay, but it was a scam. Too long of a story so, moving on... So again, I have been researching the web for a factory service manual and parts manual for my '04 SL500. Below is a quick look at the three that most catch my attention. I will appreciate your input before I make the purchase.

To save you getting scammed again I can give you a copy of the last standalone WIS and instructions how to install..

It is about 50Gb and contains WIS (workshop manuals for all Mercedes) and SPC. As well as everything needed for install.

It would be an overnight download from my FTP server and is an involved install.

These are the same documents Mercedes workshops use.

Hi I had gotten scammed too. Bought a digital lifetime manual for my 2003 sl500 (emanual online). Also had bought 8 years of ALLDATADYI- but terms were changed on me. What I DID FIND FOR FREE is Manua.ls/mercedes/sl500-2003/manual. It’s great 7 you can download free. PDF MANUSL. 376 PAGES. Just put your year car in. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Great thread, I've been down the scam rabbit hole too with eBay 'OEM' PDFs that were just scanned junk. The free WIS offer sounds awesome for the full suite, but if you're after a lighter, model-specific digital workshop manual (wiring, torque specs, exploded views for the R230 SL), nxtmotors.com has instant PDF downloads for around $14–$30. No subscriptions, searchable, and they've got solid coverage for 2004 SL500s. Just double-checked; it's not one of the ones listed here, but it saved me on a recent ABC suspension diag. Worth a peek before committing!
