SL/R231: Ipod music

Ipod music
I have been having a problem that the car's audio system has been dropping the ipod music between songs. I have tried two different Ipods on two different connections (Bluetooth and multimedia). Doesn't happen after every song. About every third song. Is this happening to anybody else?

I have no problem at all with it. I use a very old iPod, It's only 4 GB, and it has worked flawlessly for more than one year. It is connected via the media interface connection and the iPod connection cable that came with my 2013 SL550. It is an old iPod with the 32 pin connector and is flawless with the cable that MB provided. Never a break or pause.

I use my iphone to listen to Pandora. Periodically the music just stops coming through the car even though Pandora is still running.
Sometimes I can get it restarted by clicking on audio, etc. but other times I have to pull over and turn the car off. Upon restarting everything is fine.

Bluetooth is a dicier connection than cable. Hmm. I have used my iPhone as a music bluetooth connection and don't remember a problem...but it certainly would be more prone to disconnection.

The problem I'm having has nothing to do with the bluetooth connection. The problem I'm having has to do with the software in the car itself. I can be on bluetooth connection or on the media connection (30 pin connection) and I still have the same dropouts between songs.

Your ipod should work without dropouts and I hope you find a solution. As an aside, have you also tried storing your music on a spare SD card and just leave it in the card reader slot? I use an old 8GB card I had laying around and found it much faster to read and navigate than my smaller, old ipod. The SD card also supports displaying the artist and song info as music plays.
