Hi everyone,

I've seen that there are a few people who managed to get the new illuminated star logo retrofitted on vehicles like the C-Class. Even though it's not offered from the factory, does anyone know if we can add this part to our R231 SL550? Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

I was told it would be a dealer installed option eventually, probably in the next few months.

I was interested in this option before, but haven't checked with my dealer since I picked up my SL in May.

Does anybody here know how I can modify the OEM illuminated star kit to fit a 2007 CLS-550? I've been to the dealer, but they tell me there is no kit for my car, only newer models. I thought the star medallion on these cars are pretty much the same diameter. My belief is that it should be possible to modify an illuminated star kit intended for another model and make it fit my 2007 CLS. I have no idea where to start or who to ask... I WANT ONE OF THESE, GHETTO LOOKING OR NOT! :-)

LOL. I saw one awhile back and it is pretty ghetto. Get a package deal with some 22s and some neon under the rockerpanels.

Hey,

An option to add the star is available and has been for some time.The illuminated star IS NOT available if you have the upgraded distronic system. Many MB models have the illuminated star as an option, or an add on and although it is not for everyone, it is an option that works on some models and does not on others IMO. Hard to explain, but I just know it when I see one coming.
