'17 orders
When will dealers start taking orders on facelifted '17 sl for delivery date of when?
Clues on pricing as well as anticipated
Price increases on 550 if any?
Thanks for the input.

Delivery date depends on the build and the orders before, also depends your location. My order on my AMF was smooth and dealer had a build about to begin so they were able to make r he changes for what I needed. Had my beast in 3 months.

Initially was end of March but now appears to be April. I assume that ordered cars could be here early July; maybe a bit earlier.
I expect the pricing to be similar to the pre-facelift. The price already dropped a bit since 2013 (by making prior options part of the standard equipment).

Where did you get your information about MY2017 order date? I get useless information from my dealer and MBUSA. I may order a 2017 SL550 if I can be assured of delivery in July. Thanks,
Larry

Dealers and MBUSA usually don't want to provide the info as they have plenty of MY16 models to sell.
The official order date is set in Germany and then may/will be adjusted for different countries. So far I have not heard that it will be later than Germany.
I am currently waiting for the first dealer allocation. That's possible once the MY model is listed in their system.

The only thing I have seen in writing was the announcement last Fall " the beginning of 2016 will see the start of customer orders for the Mercedes-Benz SL which will be available from April 2016". That tells me that pricing and orders should be starting soon, if it is going to be available in April. The announcement was in Germany so I have no idea what that means for MBUSA.

I understand you are eager but I am not sure what you expect. It is scheduled for April AFAIK. Here is an MB internal marketing doc if that helps

No more than LA has anything to do with the SL. I just "assumed" that MBUSA would want to show off the face lift. Maybe they did. Your document is very helpful and I thank you.
I am eager because if I can order one for July delivery in the US then I will buy out my Porsche lease, most likely, so I can take the new SL on a planned road trip. If I cannot manage that, I will just wait until my lease runs out next year.

have a few questions appreciated being answered.
So would like to order the 2017 facelift, my local dealer doesn't appear to be informed of anything. So I usually go onto the MB website and select what I want but even they don't have any updated info for 2017
1. Some dealers state that every 6 years a brand new look comes out which would make this about 2018/19, if that's the case I think I will hold on to what I have. If what I think is likely, it won't be available until 2020. What do you think the possible dates are?
2. If it is 2020, I will take the facelift as I love these cars, but where can I look online for the build outs? I don't like a blk fachia and wondered if they have changed this or offer any other colors...plus, although having white for years, this new blue color looks really tempting?
3. Think Wolfman has mention that paying extra for ABC is worth it. My wife has severe problems with her back and want to get as smooth a drive as possible for her and think this would help, which brings me on to the tires..I know you can always change them but anyone know what their standard tires will be for 2017?
4. Will Apple car play be included?
Thx for the info.

2. You will have to wait. Nothing detailed is available yet.
3. Same tire/wheel setup afaik. Just go conventional and ABC. My wife had a couple back surgeries and hated our 2013 SL with springs. Loved the same car with ABC
4. Here is hoping. I assume yes.
