What Brand of Gas?
I live in the San Francisco area, where we are limited to 92 octane gas, and don't have as many brands of gas stations as other parts of the country. The most common ones are 76, Chevron, Costco, Rotten Robbie, Safeway, Shell and Valero. I've heard that there's no significant difference in quality or mpg.
I'm getting my EDP SL450 any day (week?) now, and was wondering what brand(s) forum members recommend. I'm more interested in motor longevity than performance.

Gasoline Brand
Shell is our preferred supplier, but when we travel and have access to Chevron, that is what we buy.

I run Union 76 Premium. If I'm away from home and can't find it, any Top Tier Premium will do.

I highly recommend you check out the Top Tier website. Good Stuff. I don't recommend any particular brand of fuel to my customers other than to absolutely use Top Tier fuel.

Well, this is somewhat embarrassing -- I thought Top Tier gas was any gas from a major brand! Didn't realize that it's a type of gasoline licensed to other retailers. (And in the San Francisco area, we can only get 91 octane gas, not 92 as I originally stated.)
So I guess I'll fill 'er up with Chevron or Shell, which are the Top Tier retailers closest to me.
FWIW, I have 360,000 miles on a '96 E320, the last 200,000 miles or so primarily on Safeway gas, a non Top Tier retailer, with no problem. But for my new SL450, the savings isn't worth the risk.
