Cleaning out garage, again...

I keep on finding thing I don't need anymore and thought someone here might have an interest

This time it's spacers and maybe a wireless CarPlay adapter for 2017+ SL's

Members that know my old SL's might remember that we had the stance and suspension optimized to my personal preferences. The car was lowered electronically and the stance widened with spacers as the R231 models have wheels that are simply too far inset.
Here are a couple of pics of how the car looked with forged rims and stock wheels.

I have these spacers in a cabinet but won't need them anymore. If there is any interest, please let me know. 20mm on the rears (40mm total) and 12mm (24mm total) up front. They cost something like $250. $100 shipped?

Also purchased a bluetooth wireless CarPlay adapter for our new GLE just to find out that they don't support the latest MBUX but work perfect for Comand. What the adapter does is not create CarPlay (that has to be there) but make it wireless, so no more plugging in the iPhone. This had to be ordered from China and took a while. I will return it to them unless somebody is interested. Only 2017+

Long answer to a short question just in case people don't know this

Here is the adapter: https://carplay2air.com
Paid $160.00 and waited a month for delivery. Better than the crappy adapter sold for the same money on Amazon.
I can but am too lazy to return it, so I would sell it for $135 shipped. Biggest advantage is not to wait for something to ship direct from China.

I love the wireless CarPlay in our BMW. It just naturally works. I have not used Apple CarPlay half the time in our MB's because I have to plug it into the Lightning cable in the center armrest. Wireless just works. Get in the car, Waze just pops up (or Apple or Google Maps) and I can select/control the songs via HUD. If memory serves, you can only select songs on the comand screen, not the instrument cluster. The adapter should give a similar experience. On the SL only on the facelift model

A member in the W222 S-Class forum got one so I ordered one as well. It works for him but I just assumed that it would work well on the MBUX with USB-C as well. Which it didn't.
Read the thread and see if it's for you. Ours is the latest adapter so it should already have all the latest firmware...

Hi Wolfman,

Ref your 3/13 post: "The car was lowered electronically"

How was the ABC electronically modified to lower the car and how much was it lowered?

Looking forward to your reply

Steve

We used an ELM to lower the car (electronic lowering module). We used the Renntech V3 (https://renntechmercedes.com/index.p...ercedes-detail). Unlike Mercedes models with newer Comand versions which can take advantage of the plug-n-play OBD II module, the SL still requires a wiring harness that needs to be wired in.
Here is a before/after picture. Imagine the drop to be about an inch. Since our driveway isn't level, cars with AMG will always have a light shift toward front/rear, left/right (aka uneven until level if parked).
There is a cheaper way to lower a car with ABC via links but I found that you will spend the savings quickly on additional tire purchases due to uneven wear.
