The Great Race 2020 Includes a SL190
This year the Great Race from San Antonio, Texas to Greenville, SC includes some older Mercedes. One is a 190SL! If you live anywhere along the route I recommend that you be there to watch the cars go by. A real slice of American history and the entrants pay $6000 a piece to be in the race.
Started I believe in the 1930s this is a great slice of automobile history. Here is a list of automobiles entered....

Ha! Past. 1966 Corvette that I really liked but it was also a real chore to drive. I guess now that I'm getting older I wanted to spoil myself with more luxury. I had a newer Corvette at the time but there is just this stigma hanging around the Corvette crowd. Still have a '71 Corvette in the garage too. The new C8 is nice but the SL always gets respect from the car crowd. The 1sweet66 is a screen name from Corvette Forum and it was just easier to keep the same on this forum. Guess I'm just lazy! Was thinking of changing it.

Thanks ! That particular turquoise was a 1 year only color making PeggySue fairly rare as you've noted many repaints change over to red or black. She's a keeper.
