So, if you just happen to be in the market for 'a very special looking 231' right now, one of these lovely 'Designo Special Editions' just might be exactly what you've been searching for...

Curiously what is the name of these special editions? I can see some writing on the side vent but pictures are blurry.

Where I live in Los Angeles having a convertible with a black interior wasn't an option. The white interior makes 100 deg weather a top down option. My prior car was a Jag XK8 Victory Edition which also had an all cream interior. The SL seats, show dirt much more than the Jag did.
I went old school and had the AMG wheels chromed.

I'm in Encino. My wife needs to run an errand out in Westlake today. If you have time we could meet and you could check out the wheels. One of my earlier cars was a Cadillac Eldorado in a similar metallic cardinal red - I had chrome rims on that (with vogue tires) and I think the Red and Chrome would look great.
You can email me at Dave at o2manyfish dot com if you want to see the car.

What peaked my interest was the color of his car...it just blew me away. Then, in a visit to my local dealer, they had a 2020 SL on the lot that was Cardinal Red. It looked absolutely nothing like the photos of Patric's car. The color on the 2020 had way to much brown in it. At a glance, it could easily have been mistaken for a brownish red. I've seen many photos of C. Red cars, and its appearance seems to be wildly dependent upon the color and angle of the ambient light source. I am assuming that Patric re-touched his photos with a filter or something.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

That's my only thought as to why there would be a dramatic difference in color's appearance...
