If so, and if you are familiar with how to use a multimeter, you stand a good chance of finding the fault.

The fixture in this pic looks a little different than the one in your posts above... one of the LED mounting holes is broken.

If you look at the 8 orange pads in this pic, the top right one appears to be a “plated through hole” solder connection. However, the solder does not appear to be adhering to the sides of the hole and may be causing an open circuit.
If you take a closer look and are confident that’s the case, you could try reflowing that connection.

is same one, Jørgen just tryed get to whats under the black coat for measure , thats the damage you see.

While O.P's LED's may be functional. And LED's are typically pretty robust.

But for anyone who may need to undertake this repair in the future, even if on a different model MB.
There appears to be plenty of old stock of the OSRAM Dragon LED's in yellow and white available on eBay. (some in europe) Just have to determine the exact CRI/spec. you may need.

Jørge Østvik Trondheim Norway fixed the case with a ford starter for the led light , and soldering in wires direct on the LED lamp , bypassed all electronic on the light card , just amazing .

Just curious... how did you drop (reduce) the voltage from the connector to the 3 volts necessary to operate the LED?

Somewhat unorthodox fix, but effective...
It will be interesting to see if moisture resistance and longevity are affected.
I would look for a cheap used headlight, even if broken, to salvage a functioning LED board if you come across one cheap.

Something like this below: (unfortunately this one probably has US yellow LED/lights)

Damaged R231 headlight $130

Good Luck!

I’m a little concerned about the lack of voltage regulation, as well as no current limiting resister in series with the LED. As the LED warms up it will draw more current and may eventually go into thermal runaway, smoking the LED, and perhaps even blowing a fuse.

Very cool. Is that the new hover model? Can't wait for it to come to the States.

the ford starter is the regulator, how it will work long term ,we dont know, the warning light inside also go away. So its test and see . hope for the best.

But after tuning, is like wow ,smoking rear tires in second gear at half trotthle. car is SL500, USA named 550 . Fuel use is also lowered around 0,9 liter per 10 km in speed 130 to 140 KMH

I'm glad you came up with a fix. It will be interesting to see how it works out, and I'm looking forward to hearing more once you've run it for awhile.
