Interesting.
So the MY24 Order guide is out only 8 months after the MY23 one. That makes me wonder how quick they would be delivered?

There are no details what Emotion Tour is yet. It's funny how in the Factory Options section they have it in quotes, like MBUSA doesn't know what it is yet either.
The crest should look like this. Picture is of the 2024 CLA 45, but should be the same on SL:

I would not be surprised if MB were to significantly reduce deliveries of MY2023, in order to finally catch up on the mess they created - by bring out a 2024 on a sensible and regular time.

My local sales manager just told me there is a stop sale on all V8's i.e., the 63 and 55 at this time. Naturally, no explanation. Good grief, now what?!

The old rule was to never buy the 1st year's production. The R232 is in year 3, Perhaps MB will get the quality correct by year 5 ???. For what it's worth, Consumer Reports rated MB on the bottom for reliability in 2022. What's happened to our favorite cars???

The Aero package extends some of the trim pieces on the front and rear to be different sizes/shapes from the standard or "standard in carbon" pieces.
So they'd have to do "Carbon Standard" and "Carbon Aero" as separate pieces to enable either package to have a carbon option. I have the Aero on mine, it's subtle but once you know how to look for it, it's easy to spot the extended pieces front and rear.

Makes sense but pretty annoying. I know these cars are selling below sticker, but you’d think for a planned 200k car you’d spend the extra money and engineering time to give your customers a carbon fiber exterior option regardless of their other option choices.

Thank you for that 2024 SL Order Guide. Not sure why my local dealer could not provide that? He has the 2024 Order Guide software but it has no pricing for 2024 models so we could not determine the MSRP. Yours does have pricing. I refuse to leave a deposit without knowing the MSRP & the Discount he can offer.

For years now, I believe MB has watered down the luxury experience that once was, by trying to be everything to everyone and taking the brand decidedly downmarket—while still pushing their top line vehicles to ever higher prices. If your dealer also handles Sprinter and Metris vans, along with all the sub-E Class vehicles, the dealerships are more of a mix of Romper Room and the truck stop out on the Interstate, compared to the luxury venues they once were. Now, throw in all the issues plaguing most all new models launched post MY2020 and the service departments are WAY OVERWHELMED, doing WHATEVER they can to simply get you out the door and get you to SHUT UP! They don’t want to hear your complaints, no matter how legitimate they may be. Just give them the $700.00 for a service, they’ll wash your car and hope you don’t come back until your next “scheduled service.”
Eleven of my last fifteen new cars were MB’s and it is so disappointing that there is not one new MB vehicle currently available that I have any interest in owning. I cannot remember a time over the last 50 years when there wasn’t a new MB I lusted after, especially the SL’s. Oh well.
