Radar Detector?

Hello,
Do you guys know about an integrated radar detector that actually works? For regular and laser guns?
I keep getting stupid tickets, like 10 over the limit…nothing crazy, but enough to get stopped and get the ticket. And somehow I do not get these kinda of tickets with other cars (like with the van). Nobody cares about regular cars unless you really go over the top ..
On the other hand, if the new detectors only beep at my own cars radars, there is no point in buying anything just to feel safe and get bigger tickets..

Speeding ticket receipts are an important contributor to government budgets. If you detest involuntary donations, slow down. When I was still commuting daily, I drove within posted speed limits, and other drivers were always flipping me off. I made a bumper sticker that read, "I'm the boss -- I can be late". I always wanted to hire all these other folks who were so anxious to get to work, they were willing to risk speeding tickets -- that's commitment!

That is one way to see the life! On the other side, I don't like contributing to their budget, nor driving at the speed limit. 😋

The choice is yours, but speeding and not paying the price is not one of them.

Another having your cake and eating it conundrum. With regard to speeding. In the city, I closely observe all speed limits ESPECIALLY in school zones. On the highway, I move with the flow of the other traffic, unless they are driving slower than the posted limit. If there is no flow of traffic, inotherwords light traffic, I limit my speed to no more than 5mph over, and use the 10% rule that traffic police generally use. This has resulted in not getting a speeding ticket for decades. I don’t even get a sideways glance from patrol cars.

Whenever I can not afford it, I’l stop driving all togheter haha
And I will buy the cheapest cabrio tesla that drives itself at the limit of the signs.
No point in spending double/triple the money on some v8 just to be cool driving at the speed limit. Stupid car can do the same without me paying attention at the signs. I’ll just enjoy the right side seat

I guess I have to ask the radar question on the Honda civic forums, not here 😄😄

Where I drive, the navigation mismatches the posted limit quite often. If I had to estimate, I would say at least 25% of the time.

What an apathetic way of looking at life. Seriously, did you get a card for your wallet when you joined the Sheeple? I am betting you are FULLY vaccinated for Chinaflu too....

(note: never took a China flu shot, sprayed dozens and dozens of them into sinks or trash cans for folks who employers demanded them).

Dont let one curmudgeon ruin it for you. There have been a ton of threads about integrated systems. The shame, he is already dead, he just has not realized it yet.

Maybe they should have left 15 mins earlier to be on time … sounds like they’re the type who’d always run late/last minute.

What a strange thread...

To address the actual topic:

-I use the Uniden R7 in my vehicles. It's highly-configurable, does a good job of filtering out false alerts, and Uniden regularly releases free updates to both the firmware and GPS database.

-Most radar detectors out there also alert for laser, but that doesn't do much since laser can only be detected when activated (translation: your car was already hit by it).

There are laser jammers on the market, and you'd need to make sure your state allows those if you want to go down that route.

I'm not aware of any venues that hand out SuperBowl tickets for driving 15 mph over the speed limit. Let us all know where speeding is not only encouraged, but rewarded -- we all want to drive there.

Please be careful. I support the act, and intent, not the disclosure. It could get you and or your patients in unwanted attention.

The law is now on our side. It is terrible that the "News" has not been more forthcoming with the fact that the Fed and "Modern Medicine" were wrong about 99% of the KungFlu theories. Shame that Biden made it impossible to sue the drug MFG's for this....but we can sue them for any other thing...that is another forum ;-)

Last week in Tampa everyone did 90 on 70mph. No big deal, all the old people living there …
Question was not for you, but for people who use detectors. Otherwise I can just buy them online, but I was wondering which is a little bit tested and true to their marketing. All of them are great, “best product” on the market.
I do not think I will overrun police once having a detector, or hit the car limits on the highways… I was asking for regular safe use, nothing crazy. But so many “smart” people advising the safe driving that I might consider myself the idiot for driving a little bit faster. Still, having no accident in the last 20 years might say something else. Also, my v8 asks for some revs, once the road is empty and loooong…

We need more "Go with the flow" laws. Having driven Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville and Atlanta recently....they may as well take down the speed limit signs. Seem to me the ones causing accidents are the sheet for brains idiots who are simply in the way.

You are correct. Studies have shown that speed alone is not as great a causal factor as DIFFERENCE in speed. For example, 1 car going faster than the average, or slower than the average speed of the rest of the drivers around them.

Well, only a few posts that actually provided helpful info for the OP. The Uniden are great units and they recently introduced a slew of new ones (R8W, R9W). We use the Escort Redline 360c but don't use Laser jammers as they are illegal where we live. So we have a combo of radar, waze and dash cams as our toolbox.
Check out Vortex Radar on YT. Usually very helpful info. https://www.youtube.com/@VortexRadar/videos

Fully integrated systems always seem to lag behind in models/versions so the window mounted units are perfect when swapping units or cars without great expense. Good luck!

PS. Certain cars and colors are picked out more often by cops than others and rarely relate to who is going fast
