I have a 2022 SL63. Iim looking to get a wider stance and deeper look on the wheel. More than just spacers. I’m not sure whether to stick with the current tires and just change wheels or get something in a 22 with a wider wheel. Any thoughts and assistance/pics will be helpful. And thank you.

One great question to ask is, how much straight line and/or turning performance do you want out of your tires. Once you answer that, it will be a lot easier to winnow the list of wheels/rims/tires down to something manageable.
Okay. That’s a relief. The tires you are thinking about will have a deleterious effect on handling. But if you aren’t trying to get performance out of it, it shouldn’t matter.
I’m in a similar boat, looking to change the look of the car with new shoes, but not that concerned with performance (I drive slowly these days), I’m having some Velos built for me, using stock tire sizes, I am told that they will build the wheel so it pushes the wheel out to the edge of the fender without using spacers. I’m still waiting, but the did send me a rendering - I’m psyched, obviously the rendering upsized the wheels— KH

Hello, I have just ordered some from a former sponsor here that I have used to make wheels for about 20 years. He is making some that look like an HRE classic. He is doing exactly that and making them fill the wheel wells better. Those look great on your car and they are probably oversized in the rendering and it looks like they have lowered the car.
They were speced out to push the rims out to the fenders/wings so no spacers are required (stock 21" tires were reused, I'm cheap that way HA), stock wheels were a centimeter (?) from the calipers and now there's a good inch+ of gap. I think the cost was ~$12k

REALLY like the spec that pushed the wheels out to the edge, OEM wheels have super-close tolerance from the wheel to the calipers; I currently have no spacers and stock tire sizes, could not be more pleased. KH Not sure if this angle properly shows the distance from caliper to wheel, I can take another with a tape if folks are interested Same comment here, this is the rear wheel, distance is even greater if memory serves

Those are gorgeous man!! I’m considering getting a 21” set and leaving the stock 20” on my winter rubber. If we’re talking about being cheap I’m with you. At $12,000 I don’t think I can justify it having just bought another toy in the Fall. I wonder if there are more economic options out there or I suppose I can just get a used OEM 21” set from eBay.
