Bought it CPO from a Mercedes dealer. One owner, no title issues. I pay attention to the battery charge level but can’t say it has been an issue. I was gone for 8 days and the car started no problem. I have paid attention to posts here on the forum: I always double click the lock button and keep the keys in a faraday box (inexpensively available on Amazon, and I always know where my keys are!). I also think recent software updates have helped. The car is a blast to drive. I have had many compliments on the car and color.

BTW, the fobs also go to sleep automatically if they don't sense motion for 2 minutes.

If the issue is that the nearby fob signal keeps too much of the car awake, then the digital key doesn't resolve it. Every time you walk near the car with your phone, the door handles extend. The fob you can keep far enough away, so that the handles don't constantly extended if you get near it. Depends on where the car is in relation to your living spaces I suppose, but walking around the house near the garage could constantly cause the door handles to extend.

EDIT. Just checked and MB doesn't seem to have that feature. Am sure this will be a future add-on

Here is an update on mine, I do not keep it locked, but keys are in a faraday box. My car had a little over 9K on it and had already gone through 2 batteries and gone to one of my local MB dealers many times without fixing the issue. My dealer (who my friend of over 35 years was a manager at), who I had bought many cars from (the SL is MB # 72 #71 is one of the last S63 coupes ever made and parked next to it), kept it for 9 days and did every update possible a put in battery # 3. The car is not on a charger (on purpose to see if it has been actually fixed) and has gone as long a 16 days with being driven with no issues. I did get the car for less than half its sticker price and it is not a buyback, and still has well over a year of warranty left. These are great cars especially when you can get one with low miles and in like new condition. I have been involved with cars (racing, building, teaching, inventing) for almost 6 decades, and sometimes you just need to have the right people who are good at their jobs and committed to solving a problem, no matter what it takes. I had such a group at my dealer and now I have a great car without issues.
Riding the brakes?
I have had CCB on several cars, and if it's available as an option, I would always get it.
1. They weigh less
2. They stop like an arrestor hook
3. No dust
4. They don't wear out
This guy did a nice video on them:
What does keeping the keys in a faraday box help with? I know lots of people who keep their keys in the garage or even in the cars if they have multiple cars. Are you saying that will drain the battery quicker?

Supposed to prevent the car and key from constantly talking to each other and draining the battery.
Congrats then, sounds like a good deal. I've seen some '22s listed at about 55-60% of MSRP but often they're lemon buybacks. However, I'm now starting to think that buying the lemon buyback at a significant discount may not be a bad way to go. Especially if you can confirm it was a buyback from the battery drain issue, that it is resolved (sounds like Mercedes finally fixed it with a software update), and you get additional warranty. Sure, resale will hurt with a branded title but if you consider you already got a discount than that's probably ok. Anyway, just thinking out loud. Sounds like your batter issue was resolved.
