Is the VIN 107044 or 107043?
Did you try the manage attachments and check the size of your photos?

450SL
107044 is a 4.5L engine. In '72 they were originally badged as 350SL but most were rebadged to 450SL.
The car appears to have what is left of a Lorinser or maybe Zender body kit. The body kit is not AMG. Needs the front bumper. The wheels appear to be AMG knockoffs made by Ronal.

450SL
No, No, No. The car is not a classic nor is it collectible.
If it runs, he has all the parts to put it back together and there is no rust it might be worth $1,000.00 for parts. You will put $10,000.00 to make it a $5,000.00 car. Check Ebay to see what they are selling for. Not just asking price but actual sales.
