Eisenmann exhaust

Just had an eisenmann exhaust race version installed in my 55. Had that as well as the resonators taken off. OMG, the sound is sick. The eisenmann alone was "ok" considering it was the race version which is the loudest, I still wasnt impressed, but when the resonators came off, it opened up the sound 2 fold. It sounds like a Viper. No joke.

it must sound crazy. i have the eisenmann race on my c32 amg. i am thinking about removing my resonator, but i want to be sure that i can put it back on just in case it's too loud. my eisenmann race alone isn't that loud at low-rpm, but screams at redline. i can only imagine what it must be like on an SL55, which already sounds like a gutteral and powerful powerboat, absolutely sick. congrats, and make some vids

The Eisenmann is great for higher RPMs, but I was looking for something where I barely touch the gas and it roars. I just got back from lunch and man, it is the best sound I've heard in a long time. The resonator can always be put back on the same way it was taken off. If you dont like the vette/viper/saleen sound, then keep it on. I like it obnoxiously loud and it seems to ride a bit faster. It needs to rumble for me.

Ironic I spend $3000 on the exhaust and it was 50% of the sound of an $80 job to take out the resonator which was the other 50% of the sound. And yea, it sounds like a powerboat.

I wonder what just taking the resonators off would do?

Suppose to open up the sound by putting a straight pipe in place of the resonator. All I know is it sounds soooooooooooo good. Did I mention it sounded reallly good?

Does someone make straight pipes to replace the resonators or do you have to make them custom?

I love the look of the Eisenmann system. Unfortunately, I can't stomach the price they want for it. Instead I've got a SuperSprint system lined up. I think that should have enough sound for me. I don't want SL55 sounding as loud as my Bassani cat-back equipped Cobra. I want to be able to hear my new Boston Z1 speakers and exhaust sound does get tiring after a while on longer drives.

Yea, they replace them with a straight pipe. I have a Porsche 911 with the sport exhaust on them, and if anyone has ever heard them come by, its a loud F1 type of roar. You can hear me coming from blocks away, but this SL, it makes my 911 sound like a puppy. I feel the torque is much better as well when the new exhaust was installed.

For now, got my ECU over to Speed Tuning to flash it and I am going to be the first one with the new pulley system he is making that is very similiar to the Renntech's version. I'll keep you posted.

I'd be interested in how similar it is to the Renntech package as well. Since the Renntech is physically a chip replacement vs. Speed Tuning's ECU reflash. I have expressed my thoughts on chip replacement vs. ECU flashing before, but this will be interesting. Hopefully, I will get to dyno my car shortly to give a comparison of my chip and pulley combo to others.
