Dated 3-series all show/SL55 all go
03 SL55 vs. ferrari 355 spider.
Well me and my cousin were on our way to "Force Field" Greg who is our clear guard installer who is BY FAR THE BEST in Northern California OMG the best cleanest job ever. He works for Lambo and Ferrari. Anyways driving on 101 to San Jose we see a 355 spider calmly cruising in the middle lane.
Very clean ride I must say... I honk give him a thumbs up and carry on. He then drops the hammer and flew by me. I didnt wanna race him but then I said well what the hell lets go. He wants it he got it.
I slowly catch up to him and the freeway is starting to swoop to the right as he is in the inside lane. I believe we were close to blossom hill or something like that.
My cousin gave him the signal to go as soon as I heard him down shift and take off I nailed the gas. He of course gained 2 car lengths in the beginning but after a couple seconds I passed him with ease. The ferrari sounded amazing as usual but the exhaust note of the 55 was so deep and nasty. It sound amazing. We ended up shutting down around 115ish.
With my gas dissapearing he wants to go again. Again with same results I giving him the head start and then just thrashing the ferrari after a couple of seconds.
A couple of kids in their riced out civic were watching and probly needed to wipe themselves afterwatching the free show.
I have a stock o3 SL55 with everything except for the distronic. I rarely ever drive the car hard. I must say that this was the hardest I have driven the car I know this will sound stupid but I rarely hit 70 on the hwy.

I don't know about this "ForceField" place, but I can definitely tell you that most of the Bay Area Ferrari, Porsche, and Lambo guys use Premier as their clear bra installer. I also have a GT3, and I go on meets and track days with other club members(Ferrari and Porsche), from all of our experiences, we would not trust our cars with anyone else. And no other company in the Bay Area has had as many raved reviews than they have. I've been using Premier since I was able to afford my first exotic car 6 years ago and their work is by far the best I've seen on any car (clean and seamless). And among the exotic cars group, we all know how experienced and professional Premier really is. That's why all of our track friends seem to convert to Premier after trying out other installers in the Bay Area. Just my 2 cents.

I also think in my personal judgement for both F430 and SL55 is that Ferrari is always lighter as an advantage compared to a SL. BUT for me, the Ferrari may have the looks and the racing feeling and yet you only get one. Meaning its either you get a coupe or a convertible and that's it. For the SL though, you get the best of both world in one package and you can drive it smooth or you can drive it really hard. WIth the new 6.3 engine, I think its realtively a good match.
That's what I like about the SL but still as they would say a Ferrari is a Ferrari and that is one hell of a car that will give you smiling face, that woooohhh feeling and of course, the gorgeous turning heads of the wonderful ladies out there.
