SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL 73 biturbo?

sl73's were only produced as 129 chassis. v12 n/a (zonda s engine) about 550hp. ive seen 1 at teh intersection of mulholland and coldwater. very nice. there was also 1 4 sale in dupont a while back (might have been the same car i saw)
Pagani uses it exclusively now, but I have heard of one or two other manufacturers who managed to put a few in their vehicles, and they will now retrofit a CLK GTR with one too...so it would be posssible to see something going down the road that has actually been modded with that engine....
The Pagani site has a couple of fairly decent pics of that motor....

Good news, it's the real deal and apparently fast as hell. The bad news? It's officially registered as an SL55 and the guy is having trouble getting the $200K he wants for it. So, there you have it.
some car shop did that.. he has that $4000 SLR style hood, painted it yellow.. i dunno, doesn't look very good, but to each their own...

IF that was a V12 wow it was slow. Oh and no V12 will ever have the deep bassy tone of a V8.
There may be a car out there like you say but this car is NOT it. This car is some putz who has his car registered in Oregon to save on taxes. Wait until the cops ask him about the nice pates. He will owe CA a fair bit of cash

did not want to get to picky but i think these things called water jackets start to come through around 7L!
and the block needs to be fairly strong to withstand all that boost and there is NO way you could make a 7L version work with boost. A 6.9L NA version of the 3 valve V12 was pushing the limits!
No 7.3L anything exists in the R230 chassis. R129 Yes R230 No.

we were able to get a pretty good look at the car and the driver (I was driving alongside it on Beverly, and I didn't have a cam on me to take decent pics
)...well, the car did say SL73 and it had the SL65 bumper and the SLR hood. the driver looked pretty err... how should I put it? brokeback mountain. the vanity plate said "PRDCR" or something to that effect. pretty damn brokeback mountain if you ask me.
so, more sightings of this guy...
I forgot what wheels were on it, but they were chrome, that's for sure.

I was in Westwood for lunch today and I saw the infamous car... it was parked by Penguins, so even though I didn't have my camera I took pics of it on my phone.
I'll have pics of it by tonight when I get home...

But some - not many - real 'SL73s' were produced:
Anyways, we were talking about an R230 "SL73" not an R129 (which I am fully aware were built).

it was taken with my crappy Treo 650, so the quality isn't so great. the badges do indeed say SL73 on the rear and the sides say V12 Biturbo. the car had Florida plates on it that did say "PRDCR".
(and yes, I did make a u-turn to take more pics.)
