SL55 ECU and Pulley Upgrade Results
I recently installed an upgraded ECU and Pulley to my SL55 and the performance and acceleration difference was amazing. Has anyone else experienced the same results or am I imagining it?

I haven't run the numbers on dyno yet. Will let you know once I have.
I started first with the ECU upgrade which was good, 2 weeks later I had the pulley upgrade done and the change was dramatic, it is a huge improvement. It just feels like a different car.

When modded, vehicles with forced induction stock show very impressive results, since you are increasing boost. Just look at RennTech and their ECU upgrade for the V12TT. Computer alone adds 132 hp and 155 tq.

I had Cory install the pulley, headers. limited slip and reprogram the ECU. The results are not something I'm imagining, the increase in power was beyond my expectations. Rapid acceleration from under 40 mph the car is probably dangerous without the traction control engaged and if it's raining the car stays in the garage for fear of looping out on some freeway onramp. Anyone who has driven an old '94 3.6 Turbo Porsche will know what I mean.

Any of you guys have these to the track yet? I wonder how these mods translate to actual numbers. I have seen some of the E55's but no SL's yet.

I have the speedtuning USA ECU flash as well. With the new SC overdrive pulley did you have to send in your ECU to Oliver again for an upgraded flash that'll match the characteristics of the new pulley upgrade?
I've heard a quote of around $1800 just for the pulley. Is that right and do you feel it's truly worth it as an upgrade from the ECU alone?
Thanks for your insights!

Hi RU_MATRX
The experience with Oliver from speedtuningusa.com was painless. I sent him my existing ECU - 2 days later I received it back, I would have done the pulley upgrade at the same time but he was waiting for new pulleys to come in. This took about 10 days to get.
I now had a chance to test out the car with the ECU by itself and then with the pulley installed. The ECU upgrade by itself wa great but once I added the pulley this was the cherry on top, it was an awesome upgrade and well worth it. The best thing was it was much less expensive than what Kleemann or Renntech, he came highly recommended so I went for it.
Anyway, to answer your question, I feel you may need the updated flash for your ECU. Why don't you call Oliver direct and ask him: 301-421-9464

upgrade
please do go to a dyne and have them check the O2 during the run. It is important that the fuel is tuned with the new pulley. You should be 11.5:1 to 11.7:1 air-to-fuel ratio. Anything higher on that engine and you may need to send back and have the code tuned just a little.
If its lower than 11.5:1 you OK. BUT, anything lower than say 10.8:1 is running too rich on fuel.
Good luck.

tuning
that still does not say what the air to fuel is running at. I guess money and a car's health is not an issue. Trust me, have it checked to be safe.
You could be running great, then to about to blow the motor.
A dyno with A/F reading is a simple thing, what $100.00
