Look what MBenzNL did to my car (before & after pictures)
Hi folks,
This week I had Steve from MBenzNL install Parktronic, Distronic and electric folding mirrors to my SL55. The Parktronic I missed the most, but while at it I had the other two factory original options installed as well. And everything works flawlessly.
Is is safe to say that Steve knows his business better that the official MB workshop technicians, who cannot install these options even if they wanted to. Besides installing these three options he also cleaned up some of the mess these Mercedes guys had left behind from previous jobs.

Thanks for the update. I'm having steve do the folding mirrors and parktronic on my SL55 as well. Would you mind posting pictures of the interior?

I dropped the car off for 4 days so he could work in his own time, so I wasn't there to see the magic. But apparently he tore the entire interior out to do the work.
As a bonus he vacuumed those hard to reach places, like below the seats, as they were ripped out as well
It really feels like a new car, since I'm so used to not having those options
All in all, worth every penny. And nice guys to boot
Why not get the Distronic as well? You'll feel rich.

Good to hear of someone who will do this work. Most dealers just answer "no" and it's not just Mercedes. I had the same response from Porsche about retro-fitting cruise control and eventually found I could take it back to the factory dealership.
I think the dealers shy away from it because it's too much work, too much risk if it goes wrong and, to be honest, most of the technicians are not up to it anyway.
It does of course cost more than having the options originally, not least because of the parts being replaced and the work involved in "ripping out the interior" to gain access.
