Has anyone else had the same issue. I am taking it back to MB in the morning. The have looked at it before and cant tell what the problem is. If they can't fix it, then they can have it and give me a new one!!!!!

The indicator came on stating to put 1 quart of oil in at the next refuel. I don't care if it is a normal issue, but I am concerned that it is abnormal.

The "spec" is 1 liter per 1,000km. Thats alot of damn oil. I don't agree with it but if its less then that its considered "normal"
How many miles did you go in 6 months?

thats absolute bullsh*t thats 1 qt every 625 miles, you have a motor problem no question about it. The car won't meet emissions regs in the states that have them burning that much oil.

I don't know any car manufacturer that has a maximum oil consumption figure that anyone would call acceptable, and that would only be
'acceptable' to the manufacturer. Over a quart every 650 miles is a joke, there is something wrong with the engine. It's not even close to being normal and I would challenge the dealer (an beyond) to remedy it or face legal action. Just because they claim it to be 'normal' doesn't make it so. They would be hard pressed to come up with oil consumption examples from all the cars they sell to put it in the normal range.

Ok so its 1 quart every 2400 miles, still sounds pretty high to me. I think a good rule of thumb is no more than 1 quart between changes unless were talking intervals over 10,000 miles. IMO

They are still running the consumption test. They don't have an answer yet, and I am refusing to accept this is normal. I told them that and they said that most AMG's don't have this problem, but this is known to happen to some of the AMG models.
Oh' well. I'm on my way to St. Croix to look at some ocean front property.
