Does anyone have any videos of an SL55 AMG which has good sound so you can really hear the engine? The only ones I have been able to find are the Gumball ones, and those have bad music playing so you cannot hear the engine.

John...have you seen this one...it was posted a while ago...it doesn't down load...but has the best sound I have heard...with Klaus Ludwig flogging the 55 around the Sachsenring

HAH!!! I just wantched it again...fantastic...He really lays the rubber down in the corners...You can hear the careful throttle modulations through the corners as well...and great sequence demonstating the manual shifting...listen to the RPM's as he goes up and down through the gears!!! I love it!

I would love to be able to save it...I am afraid one day it will be gone...hopefully by then I will have my car!!

great video. Thank you very much for referring that site. There were many more cool videos there that I enjoyed watching. I wonder how I can make them play full screen. Also, some of them could not open at all.
Anyway, I was impressed with the SL55. The engine sounds very powerful, although I cannot help but notice that the engine is a little rougher than I would like. I wonder how much smoother the SL600 Biturbo will be. Also, I am curious as to how the SL600 will compare to the SL55, namely in accekleration (the 55 has been tested as quick as 4.39 from 0-100kmh) and in top speed (up to 208mph in unlimited form).

Benznut, Mercedes-Benz is not going to be producing an SL600, only the SL500 and SL55.

Are you sure, John? I can't imagine why they wouldn't. I mean, the performance of the S55 and S600 are almost identical, and yet they produce both. Different strokes... ?

The information posted here about the performance of the new V12 engine in the S and CL makeover this fall indicates the performance of the xx600 and the xx55 AMG is pretty much equal and it would be a logical step to introduce an SL600, but I do wonder what, if anything, an SL600 could provide which the SL55 AMG does not already.

Mercedes seem to think the S and CL can handle two cars at the top of the tree (and CL numbers are small compared to SL), so I'm surprised an SL600 is ruled out. Perhaps a CL600 cabriolet is in store which fills the slot?

I believe that may be just a rumor. I am almost sure that there will be an SL600 model, first of all because I have read mane references to its introduction in 2003 altogether with teh sl350. Second of all, it is a logical step. MB cannot let a rough (relatively) automobile such as the SL55 be the flagship of this top-of-th-line car, that stands for much more than brutal acceleration and sports-car abilities.

yes, there was another one like this. They compared Mercedes' A-spec thing vs. an E50 vs. the F1 car. It's on the Mclaren website along with some other interesting videos. The most ridiculous video is the one about the McLaren West communication center. That thing is ridiculous.
