V60 Bluetooth Adapter Works!

I'm sure some of you are keeping an eye open for this kit, so I wanted to report my findings.

I'm on day 7 with the V60 Bluetooth adapter in the car, and so far so good.

Good news part 1.

Installation is painfully easy, just pop the Bluetooth module into your existing V60 Cradle, have your phone search for discoverable devices, connect to the kit, enter the pass code and your done.

The unit makes full use of the steering wheel buttons, and integrates with command completely.

Good news part 2 (for you Verizon customers)

Although not on the list of compatible phones, the Verizon RAZR V3C (with software Rev. 1) is in fact fully compatible with this Bluetooth solution.

I can not speak about the new rendition of software that Verizon has introduced, but I can tell you the original software suite syncs with the handsfree kit, makes/receives calls, and transfers the phone book to the command/dash screen.

I will have to steal my girlfriends pink razr with the new software to confirm or deny its compatibility.

Dont be shocked at how chincy and light weight the module is, there is not much in the little black box, but there is enough to get the job done.

Thought I add some additional info as well.

I am using a Razr as well with Cingular. I have a couple of pucks; one in the S-class and one in the SL. Both pucks appear identical to the phone which is nice as the phone automatically connects to the car system of either car I am driving in. Nothing to setup or connect, all transparent. Nice

Phonebook downloads, but is very basic and limited. Most names only appear as partial names, based on length.

There is an awkquard situation with this setup though (same as with the MHI bluetooth adapter). MB's phone system stays powered on after you shutdown the car for a few minutes (don't recall the exact duration) which means that the handsfree connection continues to work.
I had the situation where I was shopping with the car parked outside, just 20 feet away; received a call but the phone was still connected to the cars system. In short, no quick way to answer it... Motorola's also take a while until they give up on the handsfree setting even if you are ourt of bluetooth range. This of course will vary by phone maker/model.

Other than that, very happy...

Btw. I paid $275 per puck (dealer costs appears to be $258 but may vary by dealership and/or purchase volume)

The puck can bond with 2 phones total. Once done, if you take both phones into the car at the same time (example spouse & you), the puck will connect automatically with the phone it was last connected to. If you turn that phone off or diconnect the handsfree via the phone, the puck switches to the second phone.

This actually works quite well, especially the way we use our cars...

I've got a friend in MB parts at a local dealership, so I got a pretty good deal as well. I think retail is $325.

-Audio

Also:

For those of you using the verizon RAZR.
I've confirmed that the updated software verizon on the razr does in fact work fully with the v60 bluetooth solution, despite its crippled bluetooth function.

Confirmed software Revs:
GATW_01.0F.02 (first release)
GATW-01.0F.03 (updated release)

i have heard the same, but there is a hang up from my understanding and that when talking to the mic, the reciever has trouble hearing you. have you actually tested it it with a verizon razr and had good communication.

eride,

keeping in mind that it is a car kit, and sound quality is degraded, I have had no such problems. I can hold a conversation, and voice dial without any issue. The only complaint from the other end is that I sound far away.
That is nothing unusual though when it comes to a car kit.

Part number for the V60 Bluetooth Cradle Adaptor (Puck) is B67875856, your MB dealer should have it in stock or can order it for you. Retail price is $325 and there is a coupon in the box for an instant $100 handset discount if you buy an approved Motorola phone from AWS.

Regarding Verizon V3c RAZR, it's not MB approved yet but I've heard that the latest Verizon software level is actually much more stabile with the Puck than the previous level.

I just called my dealer (Caliber in Anaheim Ca) and they do not sell it but they gave me a number where to buy it. 800-266-7746 $325. After talking to them they had me check my software version on my Razr and they claim my software is not compatible.

Quick question.
I have the integrated system in ym 2006 S500, and I want to put that into my SL. I was wondering if I could move the system to the SL, how much would it cost, and after I move it, can I buy the bluetooth addon and use my Black Razor in the SL? Black on Black SL needs a Black razor. I gotta match!

The 06 S class uses the MHI phone system that uses the MOST fiberoptics system, the 04 SL uses the older D2B system. They can't be moved.

Do you already have a phone setup in the SL (with a V60 phone)? If so, get the mentioned puck and you are set. If you have no phone setup, you can buy one on eBay; they seem to go for $150-$200 complete with voice kit.

Does anyone know if the V60 adapter is compatible with the speech recognition system in our car? I have a SonyEricsoon Z800i(not compatible according to AWS) so I'm reluctant to purcahse yet becuase AWS doesn't have a return policy.

Andy,

With my V3C Razr, i am able to dial by voice. However I can not recall names stored in my phone by voice.

Also, consider purchasing the adapter from your dealer. The price should be better, and you'll have an oppertunity to try it right there at the dealer.

Hope this helps.

I would be surprised if there was compatablility between bmw and mb.....
Although both companies used the V60, they each had their own software revs. I'd be curious to see what happens when you try to use the module in your MB.

Best of luck

Oh boy! I read somewhere that some of the guys with
the S500's were using this bluetooth puck from BMW.
Supposedly all it does is takes bluetooth information,
and converts it into a format that can be read by the
V60 cradle. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope it
works, or I will be out $300, lol.
