You cannot use a 360 as a daily driver, or it would fall apart. That is why I do not care to own a Ferrari.
You have the best of all worlds with the SL55: A hard-top coupe, a very fast roadster, and a true convertible.
Expect the SL55 to be a very rare and hot item!!

I completely agree that it's a really nice car but not at $179,000.00. You can buy a regular R230 SL500 and put kleemann on it and it'll be faster than this. Just my $0.02.

Why US HP down to 469?
Even with the HP conversion correction between US and Europe's 500 HP rated SL55AMG, I would have expected US horsepower to be closer to 496 than 469 as listed on the ebay spec sheet for above linked SL55.
Was someone dyslexic, using an old HP estimate, or have the US Emissions requirements once again given US an inferior engine?

The rated HP on US models for 2003 is 493HP...the 469 HP is left over info from the 2002 spec which was 469 US and 476 Euro....it is purely a mistake in quotation...whoever wrote the ad didn't check the latest #'s.
There has been no change in the motors only in rated specs.
Euro versions are now rated at 500HP. All cars have always had at least 500HP. See my post on the Motortrend thread that quotes the press release directly from AMG.

I saw he bid himself -- I was giving him benefit of doubt that maybe someone came in locally and made offer to him that he put on the auction. The one guy seems to be determined to get it...that could also be ruse. Vegas is the right place for ebay. It's a crap-shoot as to whether you are being taken.

Even then, dealers will be "trading" these things around as to mark them up!!

It is against auction rules for the seller or his agents to enter any bids...if it can be proven the sale can be nullified and the seller sanctioned and excluded....it is a form of FRAUD.
Q.
Why can't I bid on my own item?
A. Bidding on your own item is called a shill bid. It is an artificial and unfair method for raising the price. Shill bidding is prohibited on eBay.

eBay makes their support so confusing and useless on purpose..

All auctions prohibit "shill" bidding...
with Auction houses such as Sothebys and Christies the auctioneer is allowed to bid against the room on behalf of the consignor up to the reserve..."supporting the reserve"...the consignor himself is strictly pohibited from bidding...
Shill bidding in practice can be extremely difficult to enforce.
Buyer Beware!

I looking at the ID history I think it might have been a fake shill bid...celebritycarslasvegas...actually changed his ID to this name
AFTER he placed the bid...from lhtt to celebritycarslasvegas on August 20th...but placed his last bid on the 19th....looks like someone was playing games with the seller...If it was a shill it was very stupid!!!
