SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL600 Renntech vs SL65

Ok, then that is a bit far for me to drive.
It would be great to do a heads up between a Renntech SL600 and a stock SL65.
On paper it looks like a good race with an edge to the SL600.
What have you run at the track on stock rubber?
Schiz

S600 with a ECU/TCU done to it is faster then a stock SL65. When we had the SL65 stock it was running mid to low 12's in the 1/4 mile. Ous S600 with ECU/TCU runs 11.6's

Did you ever run them head to head on the same track on the same day?
My stock SL65 has run 11.69 and many SL65's run in the upper 11's. Even in 95+ heat I run in the 11.8 and 11.9 range.
A bunch of people on this board have seen me run both my Silver and my Black SL65's at the strip.
I think a stock SL65 against a Stage 1 Renntech SL600 would be a very close race.
Could go either way!
The issue with the SL65 is not lack of power it is lack of traction.

I've raced and beaten SL and CL 55's without a problem. I'm still looking for an SL65 to race. I never see SL65's anywhere! Come to think of it I never see SL600's either. I wonder which one is more rare? Obviously I'll post what happens if I find one.

Sounds like fun. I am toying with the idea of selling the SL since I have a Bentley Convert coming in Jan. I haven't decided yet because the SL is one of the best cars I have ever had and my particular car is a good one. The problem is they are too similar to keep both and it would be nice to have a back seat for my kids. On the other hand, the Bentley will be comanding way over sticker for a while so maybe that would be the way to go. Hard decision.

I have an SL600 with RT stage 1 and exhaust. The car went 11.25@125. I have gone with a few SL65s and CL65s and have destroyed them. The only 65 I ever lost to was my buddy's who has a RT stage 1, exhaust and airbox, it's the car that went 10.85. Here's a couple of samples of the 600:
Enjoy!!

The exhaust (eisenmann) made about a 40rwhp improvement over stock. I'm running the RT 98octane fuel map.

I raced a 2006 CL65 about 1 week ago. We raced three times. Twice from a roll and once from a stand still. From a 30mph roll we were dead even up to about 130mph untill we needed to brake. From a stand still I beat the CL mainly because of traction issues but it was still very close. I assume it would be about the same against an SL65 but I'm still looking!!!

rdk,
I am in Austin for today, but will be driving my CL65 back to Houston tonight. Email me at DoctorV8@pol.net if you want to get a highway pull in before I head out this evening. Sorry for the short notice, but I just read this thread.
