Squeaking brakes
I have been driving my SL 55 for about 1000 Kilometres, and have been noticing that the front brakes emit a squeaking noise when breaking softly, like in a traffic situation.
Has anyone encountered similar problems, or does anyone have a suggestion on how to take care of it?

In the past, I've put copper grease between the caliper and the pad but it attracts too much dust and dirt and is not a completely satisfactory solution. Other times, I've switched the pads around but it's pretty much a hit and miss process.

1M, F550M, F550B, F40, S600, 365GTC, DBSx2, etc.
Different pads might help, but I think you're better off just getting used to the sound. As you know, most high performance brakes squeak, but this is a function of pads, rotors, size, etc.

squeaking noise
That noise happen only at soft and slow breaking and my experience of 5 MB S class cars is ;
Three cars had that noise, and the authorized shop could not remove it. I gave up.
Two cars including current S600 had not .
My SL55? I should check with the music off.

No Noise

Today I tried slow break without music.
No squeaking noise I heard.
This fact may give some stress to you...
To give you a psychological comfort , I will tell my annoying thing.
As I can not use Nokia and SOS , always malfunction message
appears on the front display.

Ciao Davide,
I've never notice this problem with my SL55 (3.000 km) but I suggest to verify if some small piece of sand/dirty is inside the pads/rotor/caliper.
I've the same problem with my RS4 but this disappear after a hard raining day.
You should verify, also, if the disk is "sign" on the surface.
If You lives near Italy we can also meet and spend some time together.
