Took home my Dream Car last night
Hi SL Lovers,
This is my first post, but I have lurked for awhile. So please forgive me if I am not as up on Mercedes as the rest are. But I am looking forward to learning from you all.
I purchased my Dream Car yesterday. A 2006 Black SL55 w/4965 miles on it. Had to take it home in the rain yesterday, but nevertheless I am in love with it. Lost my Dad 4 months ago, and had to bury my mom last week, both pretty young. So I am determined to live my life everyday. Life is short, so I am choosing to seize the day. Once the weather is nice and I figure out how to post pictures, I will post some.
Have a wonderful day, and "Carpe Diem"!

I can relate...........my '05 had 4,134 on the ODO when I took delivery 2 months ago, a low-mile/late -55 is hard to beat when it comes to getting value for your car-dollar.....IMO.
Enjoy, and be careful...........

Congrats man. Sorry to hear about your loss but at least you're going about it the right way. You're going to love it. Keep an eye out for the SoCal meets, we just had one recently. The SL65 is not just YOUR dream car, that's everyone's dream car.

clk554me...
yes, i understand. i watched two of my very closest as they withered and finally perished. in fact, i cared for them best i could along the way, tavelling to and fro increasingly often in the process.
among the lessons i learned, one in particular remains salient: life is short, and sometimes shorter than imagined.
while that's not the basis for a license permitting me to indulge my every whim, it is the axiom by which i live.
welcome to club.

May your dream car bring you many years of happiness and pleasurable motoring! I have been in love with the MB products for 24 years myself. Nothing stacks up to them!

Thank you so much for all of the gracious greetings, and welcome. I am looking forward to learning much from all of you.
I have been trying to attach a few pictures that I took of my new girl! My camera is good, but I suspect that I am lousy at taking pictures. For the life of me I cannot attach my photo's, so if anyone has any suggestions, I am open for directions.
I will try to attach pictures later and post then.
I am so enjoying this car!

Congratulations, CLK554me, on your new dream car. Sorry about the loss of your Mom and Dad.
I don't want to change the thread, but I too can not figure out how to upload pictures. If anyone could point to where we need to go to get educated, I would appreciate it very much.

Sorry C43AMG, I should have explained that I found the thread about how to do it, however, it begins to upload and takes forever before it finally times out. My connection is fine and the size of the file is small. I am figuring now that it may be my firewall settings. I will try again until I am able.
Thanks for the reply.
