My RED DEVIL...
I finaly got the picture of my red devil... I think I should get it in 4 weeks. But am abit disapointed in the rims. I ordered something else, and this is what I got. It looks like SL500 with sport package.
But I finaly got it. Just waiting for the shiping.

As the dealer (who sent the pictures) told me that the colors in the picture are a litel brighter than the actual color. So here is an interior shot...

The reason I don't like the rims so much, because when you order SL500 with sport pachakge, it comes with those rims. So the only obvious chenges between my car and the SL500 with a sport package are the badging.
here a close up of the rim.

The car comes with a choice of those rims or the new 21 spoke turbine wheels code 791. Your salesman probable did not see the choice in the system, it was a zero cost option. The good news is that these rims are much easier to keep clean and the brake calipers show through better. I would perfer the turbines because they were made for the SL55 and they add a litte bid of exclusivity, but then again you will have your car shortly and I am getting jerked around on a production date schedule.

Goodness! There's no doubting your favorite color!
The rims you show are the standard alternatives to the multi-spoke and someone else have commented that they look just like any number of other AMG rims, which is why I like the multi-spoke, being unique to the SL55.
There are other differentiators with the SL55 - the 4 pipe exhaust, noise and not least the performance.

Yes it is Magma Red, with Bery Red interior. And she has all the options that you can think of (at least that what I think). Oh, yah, exceprt the panoramic roof. Which I personaly don't think it is usefull for a convert. car.
It is a nice car, but am still having that issue about the wheels. As BlueSL said, there are many things that make the car deferent from the others (the 4 pipes, sound, and badging). But the first thing that get your attention are always the rims. And if I told my dealer (in Germany) to change them now, the car will be delayed one week. The shipping should be by Friday Oct 4.

Turbines vs 5 Spokes
I collected mine Thursday - I went with the 'want it to look like a 55' Turbines. I thought they would be a pain to maintain - cleaned it when I got back from the 720 mile trip and guess what - they were a pain to clean.
As already stated makes it difficult to clean the calipers also.
What I did wrong was pressure wash them at low pressure and they came up great real easy. No problems I thought!
Then I took the car a run while there was still a water and break dust mix in the wheels. The centrifuge deposited this all over the wheels - heavy braking dried it on! So got the cloth out to clean.
Lesson learned. Suspect they will be fine if you allow time to fry after pressure washing. Will find out next clean.

morebhp,
Before I was %100 sure that I should change my 5-spokes to the multi-spokes. But after reading your note, now am %80 sure that am changing them...

I agree the multi-spokes are great - I picked up my car today (silver/berry red) and I'm pleased I stayed with them. Haven't had to clean them yet though.
Just come back from a 120 mile blast on some of my favourite roads. The complete package is awesome but what is most noticeable is the absence of body roll on tight corners. Absolutely superb.

Many.... but mostly MB!
I ordered my SL500 with........
AMG Package all:-
The blue AMG light when you open the door, the AMG wheels, the whole body, the ALuminum interior trim inside and I got what I asked for except the pano-roof, which I think I'm better off without it
I think you should order them, your car is an SL55 meaning AMG! So how come I have an SL500 which looks like an SL55 AMG inside out!!! But the only diffrence you can tell is that my car is Labled SL500 AMG and Yours a SL55 AMG and I don't have those tiny buttons on my steering wheel, I have the Ash wood trim on it and I don't have the V8 labled! So I guess you should call them up and ask 4 your AMG wheels, Trust me, it's beautiful!
So get going and order them from A&A <== LoooooooL!

First of all, welcom to the forum hbo1. Thanks for the complement.
And Car_Lova, the reason that I have those wheels on just because my order got messed-up. I do like the multi-spoke rim, but they told me that the car will be delayed 2 weeks just to change the wheels. I just couldn't wait. The 7 months waiting killed me. People in the street don't know if it is 55 or 500 till I accelerate…
By the way Car_lova, I was at the MB dealer after work. They were closed, but I think I saw your car. Does it has the multi-spokes and the 4 pipes exhaust system?
If it is .... Alf mabrooook!!!!

Many.... but mostly MB!
If you wanna know why I didn't order the SL55 Engine?
First of all, I'm a Female and as you guys well know, that Females don't love 2 speed like Men do! Unless I was a CRAZY Female Driver LooooooL Which I'm not LoooooL ... But I can tell ya that the body of an SL55 is soooooo much better looking than the SL500 ......
I know you guys will agree on this, cuz the body of an SL AMG is Breathtaking!
Anyway, the main reason was, that you can't have the wood trim on the Steering wheel of an SL55 and I'm not buying a car that doesn't have wood trim on my steering wheel. They told me it's cuz of safety reasons that's why it won't be done on an SL55 by MB. Then they asked me if I wanted the body of the SL55 AMG ((YESSSSS)) that I could have it all in AMG body kit on my SL500, so I said GREAAAAAAAAAT! Cuz I only wanted the Body of the SL55 AMG car to start with and not the engine LoooooL cuz I'm not into engines :p
By the way, if you guys well know that the rear lights on the SL55 AMG is not completly RED .. it has a line through it. But I asked them to make it comepletly RED cuz if you think about it, the color of my car is Diamond Silver. So I found it looking better all RED to give my car's colour more contrast. Really having it all RED is much better than the original rear light. So if anyone considers this, trust me, it's a Female's taste and I find it looking ALL RED better on Light coloured cars.
SL55lova, your RED car looks AWSOME with the original AMG rear lights, cuz it breaks the red in a way giving it more contrast which makes it look very beautiful! I know everyone here agrees with me on Mr. SL55lova's awsome car!
P.S. Speeding leads to accidents, leading to pain or maybe death!
Enjoy the ride and drive carefully and don't race, cuz you know your car has it all
