The 07 has +17hp and +15tq.

It also weighs 85lbs more so I'm not sure how much those gains count for...

The 07 has a different map in the ECU and has the speed limiter raised to 186MPH over the 155 MPH in the '05.............

I suspect that the pulley on the '07 Supercharger (as opposed to the Crankshaft Pulley) may be just a hair smaller as well, which in turn would speed up the Supercharger at any given RPM just as a larger crankshaft pulley would do if all else remains equal..........Food for thought.

I haven't driven an 05, but from what I hear the steering feels better also.

New steering wheel. Smaller and thicker.
No more Viano wheel.
Paddles shifters instead on buttons (i think).

Has anybody actually measured the crank pulley and sc pulley to see if the 07's are indeed larger or the same as the earlier models?

Integrated sequential multipoint fuel injection and phased twin-spark ignition includes individual cylinder control of fuel spray, spark timing and phase, and antiknock. Electronic throttle. Two high-energy ignition coils and two spark plugs per cylinder, with 100,000-mile spark plug intervals.
Intake system Helical high-pressure supercharger with liquid-to-air intercooler.
Transmission AMG-enhanced 5-speed automatic. Electronically controlled shifting. Driver-adaptive programming adjusts shift points to the driver's current driving style. Touch Shift allows driver to manually downshift and allow upshifts by nudging the shift lever left or right from the Drive position. Shift into Optimum Gear programming allows one-touch selection of the best gear for maximum acceleration or engine braking by holding the shift lever to the left of Drive for one second. Driver-selectable Comfort mode starts vehicle moving in 2nd gear or a second Reverse gear, and upshifts at lower rpm, to help improve control on slippery surfaces.
AMG SpeedShift™ AMG SpeedShift programming provides up to 35% faster gear changes, automatically downshifts during braking, prevents unwanted upshifting while cornering and features torque converter lockup in all forward gears. Fingertip manual mode allows direct-access shifting through forward gears via a new ergonomic sport steering wheel with aluminum shift paddles on the back of the upper steering-wheel spokes (left paddle downshifts, right paddle upshifts) or via the Touch Shift feature on the shift lever, and will automatically intervene only to select 1st gear when the vehicle stops. In Sport and Comfort modes, the steering-wheel buttons operate the Touch Shift feature.

2007 Packages
P30 AMG Performance Package
The Performance Package begins with a 20 percent increase in top track speed to 186 mph.1

19-inch AMG twin-spoke multipiece alloy wheels are finished in sterling silver and equipped with high-performance tires2 — the largest available factory wheel and tire combination mounted on AMG lightweight two-piece alloy wheels.

AMG Safety Car front bumper side air extractors provide extra cooling and aerodynamics for performance driving.

The AMG track-calibrated Airmatic suspension system is exclusively calibrated for use in high-speed driving conditions, while the limited-slip differential improves traction by preventing wheel slip under lower traction conditions.

1. Electronically limited. Obey speed laws.

2. Lower aspect ratio tires and accompanying wheels provide substantially increased treadwear, tire noise and reduced ride comfort. Serious wheel and tire damage may occur if the vehicle is operated on rough or damaged surfaces or upon encountering road debris or obstacles. These tires are not designed for use on snow and ice. Winter tires mounted on appropriately sized and approved wheels are recommended for driving in those conditions.
