How does one check if the ic pump is bad? Or can it only be checked by the shop?

An AutoEnginuity reader (as well as any similar tool) will display the Intake Air Temperature (IAT). If the IATs are high, odds are the pump is failing or has failed.

looks like you got the fix taken care of...what's the difference between a standard IC pump and RT's pump just out of curiousity??
