SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: us sl65 limited to 300kmh?

us sl65 limited to 300kmh?
I know the sl55,e55, cl55 are limited to 156.25mph (250kmh) does anyone know if the sl65 is 187.5mph (300kmh) or is it the same as the rest of the amg cars? thanks

damn it J you seeing if you walked a tuned car or what. I know my car was limited to 155 and well you know the power my car puts down. When you going to open up your car and see if it can hit 200? I will try and see what it does in the next week or so.

i thought it was but i was informed that the guy imported his car hence the 187mph speed limiter, would have been nice to know i wakled a modded one but a bit optimistic

haha hay mike...this was a pretty fast sl65, he dynoed 530, we did 45-175+ my turbos spooled quicker then his and i would gain about 2 cars and just hold

sl65 limited??
i have a slk55amg...and its higher then the 155. i have gotten two diff speeds they say its limited too...unfortunately i never really took more then 5 minutes to check it out. one is 186 and the other is 176
i did have it too 170 coming back from vegas...so i know its over the 155 std limit.
i can't imagine sl65 is less then 186. unless there is an addl amg upgrade package to buy...but i am assuming that is all std with the 65.

THey are supposed to have a limiter like most and even if you have the 030 package it only raises the limiter to 176 or something. Of course just get an ecu tune and get it removed!

The SL65 comes from the factory with a speed limiter of 155mph. When we tune them we either leave that in tact, raise to 300kph (186), remove it completely.....customer's choice.
I always recommend putting different tires on the car that are rated for the speed, as well as the weight when we derestrict cars.

All AMGs without the P030 performance package are limited to 155; the P030 ups it to 186. There is no P030 for the SL65; there is for the SL55. So an SL55-030 has a higher top speed than an SL65.
It's an oddity because everything in the SL55 P030 option is already on the SL65 (except for the higher VMAX). The same situation now exists for an S63-030 having the higher top speed than an S65, which has no P030 package available.
