SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: preowned sl55 graphite, high mileage?

preowned sl55 graphite, high mileage?
Been on the lookout for a capri or aegean blue '04 or '05 sl55 in my area and the local dealership has an '03 sl55 in designio graphite, 38,000 miles, starmark thru Jan '08, asking mid $70's. Naturally, it has the kitchen sink options except wood steering wheel. Although I've had only one trim issue with my '03 sl500, I'm somewhat concerned about this AMG being the '03 and nearly 40,000 miles.
My gut tells me to pass?

Who are you dealing with? I have bought all of my SL's and Porsche's in Atlanta and have a pretty good relationship with those dealers. Maybe I can help.
It is hit or miss. The sl600 and sl65 are a ***** to sell from the dealers POV. They actually gave me more than I paid for my sl500 and I put on 12000 miles.
As far as you sl65 what are you wanting? Maybe we can swing a deal.

RBM has the graphite designio sl55 and that's their advertised price, I've only eyeballed it, not haggled since my salesperson was off that day.
I hadn't considered the sl65 though.

I think it's the small market I'm in. I'm in Palm Beach today and I'll look at some Range Rovers today to see what I can come up with down here. When I get pissed at my local dealer I like to try a different brand.

I just got a SL55.. Im a wholesale dealer. I will sell it to you for $59k It has 41k.
No paint work except for front bumper due to scrubbing on driveways etc. Very clean.
Not many options. AMG's dont come with wood grain steering wheel, btw.
Silver with Black. All books etc. New Pirelli tires. Chrome 07 SL55 rims.
I'm in Atl all the time let me know if you want more info or would like some pics..

BTW, this is very close to auction price, you can afford to buy a Mercedes warranty and still save money over most other dealers. $3600 gets you 2 or 3 years and up to 100k.. Some guys here have had aftermarket warranties and had good luck with them also.
