***Lower and Raise Top while Driving***
A have been absent for a while and maybe this topic have been solved in the meantime, but i will give it a shot and tell you anyway.
The disadvantage of the SL, having to stand still, before you can activate the opening or closing of the top, can now be overcommed by an additional module installed.
I had mine done a month ago, and it sure is nice, activating the top up til a speed of 25 MHP., ( at higher speed, the hydraulic of the boot cant cope with the drag ) be able to open and close the top, in distance, ( aprox 25 feet away ), only with the standart key, etc.
When you walk away from your car, just press the lock button, on the car key, three times, and the top will close, the doors will lock, and the alarm be activated, all automatic.
It workes great and has given me only pleasure up til now.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Why would you want to lower/raise top while moving?
I see that the mod does some other things but why would you want to raise or lower the top while moving? I see nothing but bad things happening if you could do that!

I choose to install the module, because i found it anoying to have wait, when parking the car, that the roof came in place. Also i wanted to be able to open the top, while approching the car, so that could drive of instantly.

I have to get one. Did you install it yourself? Is it hard to install?

No, i didnt do it myself, i had a mechanic do it. He told me it was fairly straight forward, but he had trouble with the colors of the wirering, in the car, because it didnt match the ones in the manual. The installation manual is very instructive, taken you ahead, step by step, and maybe the coloring is just a problem on my car.
When the module is installed, and you turn on the ignition. the module is self diagnostic, and will tell you if you installed it correct.![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I surgest you take it to a shop, and let them install it. It took my mechanic 2 hours, and he is not even a MB guy.

It took me 45minutes, and I got stuck and had to call my friend for help.
If I had to do it again, it'd take around 20 minutes...I just don't see 2 hours unless he took a lunch hour.
Was he on the clock?

I think 2 hours are not so bad, given the circumstances.
