SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Glass roof free ?

London Lad, I do not think that would be true. The glass roof is expensive to manufacture and MB can charge for it and they know people will pay - why give it away!

SL55
Well I don't know. My invoice said pan roof FOC but the total price then still had the roof cost added in but not itemised. I'm just wondering if there has been a change and the dealer is doing a bit of profiteering.
Also a friend has just imported 6 SL55's ordered without pan roof and the first 3 have turned up with roofs!!!
Graham.

2006 SL55 with 030 Performance Package
I hope that is not true, I do not want the roof even if its free.
I like the true coupe/ then majic roadster look, plus it is a more soundproof cabin at high speed without the pano roof.
Just my crazy .02 cents
The great news is my sl55 is being built Decade 03/01-1 I think that is January 2003 for Feb. Delivery
Now its starting to get fun!
Silver with Charcoal interior, Black Birdseye Maple wood, Keyless Go, Bi-Xenon lights, Parktronic, Tire Presure Monitoring, phone,CD nav collection, and 5 spoke AMG wheels.
Does anyone think I am missing a must have option?
Thanks,
AMGBENZ

According to Car and Driver, the cabin of the SL55 is quite quiet when doing 70 mph - 67 db to be exact. That is the same db as the S600, tested by the same magazine.
I do not know if there will be any changes with the Pano roof. Logically one would think so, although the fact that the Maybach is offered with [almost] the same roof (62) leads me to believe that the compromise is not that bad.
What I fear it will change is the behavior of the car in a rollover.
