Apparently the maker (Byd Auto in China) has touted the car as follows:
"The F8 certainly has some Mercedes SL influence, but they are reporting that this vehicle is the first hardtop drop-top in China with "independent intellectual property rights."
This independent thinking is also clearly reflected in their logo:

The chinese seem to be morally lacking and will steal anything they can. Very sad. But they are stupid enough to invest all there money in the USA so if we ever get a cold they will died from the results

OMG this was at the detroit auto show....if you think this was bad....there is a similar company that created the worlds worst car....the hifun...check it out on google....i went up to the car and shook the tail light right off!!! the people who worked at the show could not even get the hood open to show me the engine......AND it COMES WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER!!! because they know what kind of crap they are selling!!!!!

what the hell do u know about china... i wouldn't call china stupid knowing it's the fastest growing country in the world..... If all these auto companies like MB don't like this, they can stay out of china... but i doubt anyone would do that...

I know they steal intellectual rights that don't belong to them and reverse manufacture anything they can get their hands on. They are stupid to invest in the USA, as much as they have, they now own a big chunk of the USA and if we don't do well they do poorly, were kind of married . it ain't hard to be the fastest growing when you start in the basement and you have excess pop.
