Hell with my SL55
Okay so about a couple months ago, my top stopped working. For some reason it wouldn't drop. I ignored it for a while because I never had time to take it in. Now finally about a week ago I finally took it into the dealer to get fixed. Keep in mind I bought it from a place called Motorcars Direct, now... my car is still under warranty so they take it back to the dealer and do not fix it themselves. When I got the car back, I didn't realize till when I got home... My right back rim was all chipped up. Honestly, looked like my rim was Black with White polka-dots. Also, on the side of my door there were chips. A lot of them. Looked like someone took my car rally racing. My whole car was dirty, expect that right rim, and the door. They looked brand new. I guess to keep me from noticing how they messed up. Now when I talked to them about it they said they didn't do it. How surprising is that? And to add to everything else, when I got my keys back. My keychain was missing, along with my two house keys. They asked for my number and said they would call back. I have been calling non stop and I havnt gotten any answers.
When I took my other car there before, when I got it back my cologne from
the glove box was missing. Hmmm... One again they didnt do it.
Now is there anything I can do with this? I need some help.
Every time I call, or go down there.. The manager is never in.. or he is busy
or they make up some excuse like that.
If anyone has any advice, let me know please. Thanks guys.

I wouldn't say you are having hell with your SL55. More like hell with that shop. If I were you, I would never bring my car back there again. Take pictures of your damages and keep trying to speak with the manager. Most of all, don't give up. Worse comes to worse, if they are not willing to speak with you and/or not reimburse you for your damages, I would file a claim with the BBB and never bring my car back to their shop. It would be a little hard to sue for damages because you will have to prove they did it. Got Proof? Lesson learned. The lesson is stay away from that shop and always check your car out before you leave a shop, take photos of the damages, and raise hell.
Nice SL55 by the way!

M Cars, old Corvettes, other old Detroit Muscle, etc.
Very sorry about your car, but it's hard to feel sorry for you personally.
The decision you initially made to not drop off the car directly at the MBZ dealership is questionable at best.
If it was a matter of convenience or lack of time, have one of your employees or house staff domestics handle it in the future.

Good ideas, very good. I think I might tell them I want to sue them. Hopefully it will scare them and they will just give me the money to fix my car, without going to court.

Go watch Ferris Bullers day off. How many miles did they put on your car.
Do you even know ????
Unless you are leaving your car at a reputable Benz dealer, this is what can happen. They see you have money. So they take your keys and property.
If your registration was in the car they have your address too.
NEVER do what you did here again.
BAD BAD

Say "I'm turning this matter over to my attorneys tomorrow" and hand them one of your cards and one of your attorney's cards. Then walk away.
Let your lawyer do his job if that does not get that quack of a dealership's attention.

BTW, experience comes with age and 30 years ago I might very well have made the same mistake ..... so in the end, you may simply have to chaulk this one up to experience

Your a local.
I see that OC bus stop. Did you get this car from those guys in Irvine or the one in San Diego ?
Man you should have just gotten hooked up with an SA from a good Benz Dealer. PM me and will get you set up. Never go thru those guys.
Your warranty is good at any dealer.
Bring your car to Cars and Coffee.

It means you appreciate the SL55 AMG for what it is, and you have a little bank. But it doesn't mean you know how to drive one. ![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
Sorry bro, I apologize! You had to see that one coming! Ha! Ha!
Hey we are on the same team. I'm a former Marine and currently deployed in the sand box, direct hire with "someone".

Thought you ment that the 2009 was hot and would be a status symbol. Miss understood. I like the current SL because I think it is beautiful and fun to drive. I also think the DB9 is beautiful and the F430, but a lot of the high $$$ cars are not that good looking in my personal opinion. Production cars are not a good investment but they are better then boats and planes and women
Whats that saying if it flys, floats or fuxks rent don't buy.
