SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL55s in stock in Houston
Firemist Red Metallic and Brilliant silver (non pano roof) are the models available for the SL55s, I think the SL500 was red, I was drooling over the other two
. In case somebody can't wait to get one, Greenway Plaza has them (disclaimer, I don't make any money out of this
)
Having them in stock is one thing, selling them at MSRP is something else....
I am afraid the US market will say very strong for the SL55, there are so many roads to let the car out, i dont see why this car wouldn't be the car of the year for the next 10 years.

hey pocholin the car loaded is 124-126 with every option available so the car should be 165 if it is 40 over, they are crooks
Worst of all the car didn't even had the beautiful split spoke 19" wheels.
I was back at the dealer today and got a chance to ask about the cars, they are asking 40k over sticker price, that will be 193k for the Firemist red!!!!

I'm sure they'll have to drop the prices sooner or later.
I received the order fax from my dealer showing the NetStar printout, etc.. The beast is set for January production!!!
I assume from production to delivery is 30 - 45 days?
Anyways, everyone should be happy, as when I looked at the filled order sheet with the total price, etc. there is not longer a federal luxury tax charge!!!

Suprisingly, it's really not that many people buying the SL, instead, greedy mom and pop dealers are buying them for themselves and are stockpiling them and are trying to beat people over the head. However, if you notice, those cars that are being advertised by dealers have been sitting on the lots for a LONG time. Eventually, the dealers will adhere to consumer demand and lower the price. Right now, a LOT of people want the SL, but most are not compelled to throw $150k+ at it.
Some people have made huge profits off the car, but most people have bought it and are stuck with it. The fact is that the economy is not like it was when the R129 model came out. Back then, people were paying up to $50k over the price, and that was just for an SL500.

According to my dealer they are receiving a lot of requests from other dealers to buy a SL55 for $40-$50k over sticker.
Other dealers usually search for a car for their own long-time customers that want a "brand-new" car. That means an untitled car that is delivered at the Mercedes dealership and given to the customer as a new, not a used car. These cars usually come from within the MB network first and not Ebay.
