Help: Body Shop in Chicago
Members,
Can anyone recommend a Body shop? I am very picky about my cars and want to take it to someone who i can trust with their work... I am planning on installing the SL65 bumper on my SL55. I want to make sure they can match the paint very well and use exact same paint as original. Can anyone recommend a very well known Body shop for their work in Chicago area?
and also Tint and clear bra shop as well. Thank you

a place called north shore auto body broadway hollywood area fixed up my g500 and did a good job......the place looks bad on the outside but they do good work. It is who Loeber motors recommennds
other than that in schaumburg patrick auto body does great work as well.

Collision Technique Center in Wauconda Certified MB Body Shop
Did a perfect job on a front end collision on my 05 c230 a couple of years back. Talk to John Barret, they give you a lifetime warranty on all work. Matched my diamond black metallic paint to exact factory color. Very professional people and they only work on the best cars, porche, bentley's, ferraris, bmw, MBUSA certifies them as one of their specified certified body shops. Good luck, hope this helps if you haven't gotten the work done yet.

took the car into North Shore who has been dealing with Lober motors for over 30 years. I will let you guys know how things went. I should have the car sometime next week. Thank you everyone for feedback.

I have taken several MB and BMWs to Guy and Sons's on Vanburen. It's a family owned business for several years and they do perfect work. I wouldn't take it anywhere else.

North Shore Autorebuilders... at Broadway in Edgewater close to Loyola. They are amazing, place looks run down on the outside but when you step inside its all porsches, mercedes, bmw's... and they are MB certified i think.

Also, what about the new clear coat MB has been using, Nano i beleive its called, it's supposse to be a harder clear coat which in turn is suppose to make it harder for chips..Is that clear only factory installed or can body shops apply that??

I had excellent work done for me at Patrick Automotive Group in Schaumburg. Mine at the time was a 91 Cadillac, they did extensive work on the front end and the paint matching (medium gun-metal grey metallic) was imperceptible.
It was Patrick Cadillac, but I don't know how their body shop works vis other brands, nor do I know whether Patrick now has a MB component to its brands.
I'd try 'em, though; they were terrific.
