SL55 Vs M5
Which one is faster? Just wondering I own one, and I'm not implying that either one is faster, I just got mine a couple of weeks ago, and realy crious, as I never had a chance to

I would put my money on the M5, its 7speed SMG gearbox helps it with the top end.
0-100mph you might be neck in neck with the M5 but over 100 it starts to pull, around 4th gear and +.

If we're talking 1/4mile, SL eats its breakfast due to 516lb/ft and the SMG torque limiting in 1st gear.

the torque of the 55 motor should keep you about even to 60 or so off the line....

SL55 would take the M5 to about 100-120...Because your torque would get you off the line much quicker. M6 you'd have that until 90-100.

M5 on the highway no question unless the SL is HEAVILY modded. Heck, I'll admit the M5s can best the 65-engined cars at the upper top end (and that's been posted by fellow 65 owners on this very site.)

For evidence, look at what an E55 does to the M on a dragstrip and then what happens on a hwy roll. Totally different outcomes.

yea the few 65's ive driven are faster than any stock M. ever. at any speed.
And I have owned m5 and m3's. and driven m6's quite a bit
