So I’ll start at the beginning last weekend I fly to MD to pick up a 2007 SL55 5000 miles not a great deal but it's a good deal been looking for 2 months and this I thought was overall the best. I pick it up last Saturday drive her home from MD to LI, NY no problems love the car.

I get in the car to go to work on Friday as soon as a start it the DIC tells me convenience options temporarily unavailable ok fine I put it in reverse and back to drive shut her down start it back up and she's fine (put the top down) and I’m off to work no problems rest of day. Today going down to friends house same thing but, on off trick don’t work drive to friends house park it help him out 2 hours later get in car same thing take out the book says nothing about it. Hit the reset button on the dash and boom it works put the top down come home. about a hour ago after falling asleep on my couch waking up startled that I left the car with the top down and in the driveway I go out side to pull it in and put the top up and a light is on that says BRAKE something about hold down pedal who knows I start it and same thing as before no convenience options so I try to reset it and the car freaks out starts calling someone BRAKE all kinds of stuff for like ten minutes and then it works…… ANY IDEAS? Please don't tell me I bought a lemon, is there a master reset? Pull the battery terminal,etc. I looked around the forum for a similar situation but I don’t see one any help would be great thanks all

Well usually when it tells you that the convenience options are temporarily unavailable is because your battery is low...

low battery probably, the one in the trunk. look into getting a trickle charger, or a new battery (id just get a new one)

A new battery the car is less then a year old ... do you really think thats it?

Its a pretty common problem if the car has keyless go. The dealer can fix this rather quickly by replacing convenience battery under the hood. Just call roadside assistance, they will come to your house to do it lol.

YES.
Always use Roadside Assistance for Battery Replacements.
Cheaper than the dealer and they will do it RIGHT.

its common if the car has been sitting with electronics usage but very little driving and since you just bought it, it was probably sitting for a while

I have to agree that this is probably a bad battery. Roadside is your best bet.

So they do charge you? I've had the charger on it all day i will see what happens thanks guys for putting my mind at ease i was thinking i was in a world of **** when the car went haywire last night. so who is the best to talk about upgrades with for the SL55? pass a name along or chime in Thinking all the way RENNTECH i have a dealer close buy Auto Addiction. need to go lower need wheels some chorme parts odds and ends please chime in thanks

My main battery went after 12 mos. Similar problems. Dealer can verify battery problem because it will kick out codes. Once new battery is in, all accessories work again aok.

so the saga continues when i shut car down still sounds like something is on light buzzing noise under the radio. any ideas??? also dont know if this is normal but i can turn the radio on when the car is off?

Might be CD spinning. Mine does that too when I unlock and open the car. The navi-CD will come to life inmediately.

Yes, you can turn the radio on without key in the ignition.

the new battery did nothing 2 days later same thing. but i did some trouble shooting and pulled the fuse on the a/c unit and that noise i heard stoped so i left it out no problems in the morning wonder why the a/c unit is not shutting down all the way...i will give it to the dealer and see what they say i did the hard part for them already

We all good dealer put new a/c/heat controller it was not shutting down all the way kept running after car was off everything works ok now thought i would post in case anyone in the future had a problem close to this thanks agian guys.
