SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Red SRS Indicator in-dash
I am new to MBWorld and I wanted to introduce myself, I have recently purchased a Brabus SL55 K8 (what a Car!!!!)
Its a 2003, Black Exterior, Black Brabus Leather Seats, Door Panels, Upper and Lower dash, Center Arm Rest, A/C Seats with V-Max Removal Unit.
I just wanted to share this with you MB SL Lovers.
I have had the Car for 4 Days now and have not slept through the nite since then.
Anyway let me get to my question.
I was sitting in the Brabus SL last night with the engine running and the user manual in hand trying to learn what all the buttons do when the "SRS" red indicator illuminated in the dash, I restarted the car and it came up again, I read the manual and it states to drive carefully and take it to a MB dealer!
does anyone have any ideas about what could cause this?
my other problem is that I cannot seem to find the information display the Tyre Pressure monitor, I follow the user manual but it does not show in the dash display options. the tyre pressure monitor was fitted to the car as I have the original purchase order and invoice showing the options that the previous owner had specified.
Any Help would be appreciated.
I look forward to any questions you guys may have about this "Beast of a Car"
Brabus K8

tnx again

I Just went out to check both seat belts, pulled them right out and back again! the drivers side does not seem to have as much tension as the passinger side infact if I let it go it does not retract all the way back without some help to do so!
Does your command show the pic of the car with blank info for the tire pressure? If you have this display, TPM is part of your options.
1. If you see the display, but not air pressure reading, you may have the sensors in the wheel removed or that the sensor needs to be cleaned on the under side of the sending unit mounted to the wheel. Just wipe the white colored sensor clean with a dry cloth.
2. If not, it may have to be reprogrammed using Star diagnostic.

Went to my MB dealer today to sort out my "SRS" Light issue, they reset the "SRS" system on my car, they said it seemed to have been triggered by a possible faulty seatbelt!
I was told that if It happens again I will need to have the seatbelt replaced.
I also decided to have a "Multi Point Health Check" seing as I had only recently purchased the car and wanted to have some peace of mind.
after thr check the dealer said the there are several holes in one section of the Brabus exhaust, the rear breaks are 80% worn and one of the break discs are "warped" I have only had the car 4 days.
I was told by the car specialists that I purchased my Brabus SL55 K8 from that the vehicle was going to go through a complete check and any issue found would be sorted out prior to me collecting the car!

The srs light was being triggered by faulty seat belt adjuster sensor. This is a common issue and there is a Mercedes tech bulletin about it.
To fix it the seat has to be removed and the sensor harness has to have new connectors soldered on to it. The bulletin recommends doing both seats at the same time.
I opted to only do one. About 3 weeks later the second one went out and I had to take it back.
Its a rather costly procedure labor wise. I think 4-6 hours per seat.
Just to let you know that the SRS indicator comming on was caused by faulty seat sensors as you mentioned Coldhammer, I have had both seats done!
have also had the tyre pressure monitor issue sorted, it turned out to be a faulty TMP ECU which was replaced.
I had the work carried out at the MB Dealership.
Thanks Guys

try putting your seat belt on it may take 3 days to reset or a bad sensor for seatbelt go to the monitor find the temp or the oil check or service push the upand down button. have you driven the car withe esp button on it will light up on the dash that makes it go good but you will spin the tires have fun.1 last thing do not let any one change a battery without a small battery hooked up my freind did and lost the abs brakes and top mapping.
