Not sure I'm that impressed...
Since it's a NA engine, right..?
I'd MUCH rather go with SL65!
Can NOT see the point in having to rev a car, that has NOTHING to do on a track..!
And I can hardly see the point in having to do that with the cars on the tracks either, for that matter!
(But I guess, high revs is the only way to get HP out of a NA engine, without turbos and stuff...)
In a Ferrari for instance, I guess it's fair to say, that you get some kind of "race feel" when you rev it... I give you that.
Otherwise, it's just a hazzle to HAVE to see to, that the needle is on the later half of the clock...
Like;
Where's the needle..?!? Where's the needle..?!?
SL65 owners go;
Don't know... Don't care...
It just TAKES OFF.
Otherwise, the car LOOKS stunning!
To be honest, I'm starting to like the new front.
Of course, like allways, just my opinion guys.

Car Whore
the SL63 is nice and fast, no need to rev it to holy hell. its a very fun car, more fun then a SL55 or SL65 could ever be and its owed to the transmission as well as the new electronics.
sure, it wont be a super beast and blow away z06's with its V12 TT, if you want that then go with the 65. However the 63 is more sporty, agile, and crisp. It almost feels like a manual; i love this new transmission.

Incorrect!
You ended your post with that, sure.
But I was reffering to your opening statement, going like this..;
"What a car! 600hp!WOW"
Remember..?!?
And, owning a Carlsson myself, I can honestly say that I'm not that impressed with their work.
Their exaust for instance, is build in a way so it makes a wizzling sound in high revs!!!
That means, that the exaust travelles supersonic!
And for an amateur, that sounds awesome.
But it acctually means, that there's a bottleneck somewhere!
And that of course, makes the exaust travel faster..!
And therefore, the supersonic wizzle!
Shame Carlsson!
And we started looking at it, and discovered one BIG MISTAKE Carlsson have made!
So, we ended up doing some adjustments to my Carlsson-exaust ourselves.
Unbelievable!
So now, I'm rid of that annoying wizzling sound!
And this example sure makes me wonder, how little time and effort Carlsson put into there products, and what other corner that company may cut...
PS. I've never driven a SL63 (only an ML63).
And I'm sure the SL63 gearbox is great!
But generally speaking, normally aspirated engines with much power allways need high revs to set the car in motion!
And THAT was what I expressed my discomfort with.
However, a great gearbox sure makes that behavior better and more smooth than a stick shift would. Of course!
But never the less guys, facts remain...

Rip off..?
I take it, as Carlsson is doing the ripping, and that you find that very expensive..?
In that case, I couldn't agree more..!!
$25,000,- for not even 90 HP..?!?
Again, for that kind of money, I'd go for the SL65 7 days a week...
The 65 feels like a bargain, compared to that one..!
