Do you have roadside assistance in Australia? I would think they could handle that.

+1 Happened to me last week. This little metal key that is inside your plastic key will open the door. Be prepared that your alarm will go off. Inserting your plastic key into the key slot in the dashboard will disarm the alarm.Originally Posted by R230_Nicke
Use the key that are inside the FOB.

I guess I missed the fact that his battery is gone completely! In my case it didn't had enough juice to unlock the doors but enough to set off the alarm!

you can also use the metal key to enter through the trunk to reach the rear battery.

models that have a blade key for the trunk and only an infrared receiver in the door handle and the battery under the rear seat.Use the blade key to get in the trunk and then attach a booster box to the positive wire of the trunk lamp and the ground wire(brown)until enough charge has trickled into the battery to gain access into the car. Then you can properly charge the battery.Never with the alternator, and never with the key in the ignition.

ExploreI used the key as suggested to get into the trunk, inside the trunk there is a batterry which i am trying to charge. On the battery i noticed a warning Do not jump start from Aux Battery use main battery in engine compartment (not the exact wording but its suggesting this is one of two batteries)Am i doing the right thing by charging the battery in the trunk? I am using a CTEK charger have had it on charge for Approx 1.5Hrs no sign of life.
BTW thanks for your responses without them i would have been totally blind the manuel doesnt offer the same level of assistance

when my battery died on me the MB road side assistance guy open my truck with the metal key and he clamped the portable 12volt battery jumper directly to the rear batter while it was still connected and started the car. He said it fine to use a portable jumper because the voltage is regulated but Never use another vehicle .

in the car,you should open the hood and charge the car overnight via the underhood charging post.Almost all model have one.It is labeled.Key out of ignition whenever charging the battery.
