Talking Sl63 trunk lip spoiler replica $289 painted!

Has anybody tried a sl63 REPLICA trunk lip spoiler? Wonder how it fits and compares to the oem part?

Any Info?

Will be interesting to see the quality... it's about 1/2 price of the OEM spoiler.

i might be getting it in the next few days. i have had some really good luck so far with replica lip spoilers from this seller. I have a cls550 with the 55/63 trunk lip spoiler and it is 100% identical to the oem part, and fits 100% perfect. Also the paint work is top notch. I will let you guys know if i go ahead and get the sl63 lip.

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
they were listing the SL63 spoiler, unpainted for $319 last week. I guess the recession prices went into effect.

I received mine yesterday. I already have the flat style spoiler on my car and will be replacing it with the SL63 style. The finish on this piece is outstanding, very smooth and the paint is perfect. It is a perfect copy of the OEM part. I have purchased from them before ; the most recent was a E63 spoiler for my wife's E55. Again very quality part.

If you have the desire to buy from them go to them directly and save yourself a few dollars.

Be careful, notice it's from Taiwan. I bought my E55 spoiler from Taiwan. Although it's good quality and the color match is perfect the fit isn't very good.

I installed mine yesterday and took it off yesterday. The passenger side fit perfectly but the driver side was a horrible fit. The end fit well but almost 12" of the spoiler between the end and the center trunk brake light did not make any contact at all, leaving a very visable gap on the trunk lid and the flat part between the SL55 emblem and the 3rd brake light. There is no way that it will fit properly. I plan on calling them on Monday.

I just got mine yesterday from the ebay link, (not Taiwan) and i am 100% pleased. The fitment is amazing in all of the visual areas. the length is perfect, and overall the spoiler is 100% the same shape and size of the oem part. And the paintwork is amazing, looks just as good as an oem part. here are a few pictures.

lkirchner : make sure that you line it up like a sl63, not all the way to the ends of the trunk. Also spray a little water/soap mixture on the trunk before you put the spoiler on, this will give you a lot of play in order to get the spoiler right up against the trunk in all of the hard/tight places to get to. Then tape/hold the spoiler down until the water dries, like 15 min or so. then put some masking tape on top of the spoiler and let the tape hold for a few hours and it will be perfect. GOOD LUCK, and i hope you are able to get it worked out.

YES! and THANK YOU . This is an amazing replica. I would highly recommend this seller. There is no need to buy the oem part for twice the price. MAKE SURE that when installing you use the steps i did by spraying a little soap/water mixture on the trunk first. this will give you that play you need with a tight fitting spoiler like this to get it to lay 100% flat is all of the tight places.

Thanks, Idid everything that you recommended. I lined it up perfectly with the center brake light so that the alignment could not be off. It appears that the spoiler is bowed to the left of the brake light. This is frustrating since I have put the same type spoilers on a CLK, CL E and the flat type on this SL.

SORRY to hear that. I know that this is a very tight fitting spoiler and that you have to be pretty rough with it in order to get it to fit. Hope that you can get it worked out.

Thanks again. On the flat spoiler that I bought from them the paint was completely off in the shade. My SL is black and the paint had a true brown tint to it. They were very good; repainted it and all was well. I hope this experience will be the same.

This is a problem inherent to Fiberglass it's very rigid, & wants to curl back on itself in thin pieces like this. I'm going w/Poly Urethane product I posted link to.

Looks like you are trying to build yourself a nice FAKE SL55/65/63 lol..

I am also looking for amg side skirts.
If anybody has any of these parts please let me know.
You already upgraded your FAKE AMG SL/55 badging & SL55 taillights, now your 500 needs a bit more, other pick's from your SL500

I browsed thru your post history, you need to be a SITE SPONSOR to be selling MULTIPLE items on MBworld, your obviously not, 90% of your posts are SELLING ADDS, also trying to be sly w/this thread & others starting them by asking if anyone has tried it yet? w/link to Ebay add lol...

The seller on Ebay is Directcartoys guess where he's located? That's right same as you, South Florida... When somone asked "Where are you located?" on another of your selling adds "Chromed AMG wheels"

You answered w/this below..

You're obviously selling these items, I'm reporting this info to Moderators besides NOT paying sponsor dues you're selling crummy products that DON'T FIT!

Let me start of by saying that you must have a lot of free time on your hands to spend the time do put all of this together.

First of all, i have NO affiliation with Directcartoys. If you want to hear if for your self why dont you give them a call and see if they have even ever heard of me. Directcartoys is located in Sunrise Florida. The ZIP CODE 33433 is from Boca Raton, Florida. NOT SUNRISE! I had posted there ebay link on the start of this page because they do not have a website. They are located (ALMOST 40 MINUTES AWAY) from me and before i went ahead and purchase the trunk lip from them i wanted to see if anybody had bought it from them yet because i wanted to know the fitment, ect.

For you who are so interested to know what model sl i have , it is a sl500. The reason i had blurred the "500" is because i wanted to see how it would look with just the SL not the SL500. And yes, i had put the AMG badge on the other side.

As far as the "SITE SPONSOR", i apologize if I had upset you by selling multiple parts on this forum.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Anyway...... back to the original point of this.

As nice as this part looks, I have an OEM CF spoiler on order. I'll see if I like the contrast. If not, I'll drop it off and paint it.
