Great. I'll get one on Amazon today. Did you also drain the oil from the plugs also to see how much was left over, if any, after you sucked it out?

No need. It gets 99% of it out.

I change mine every 5K miles in my SL600, and every time I get 8.5 qts out. The Mityvac has liter markers on the side of it, so you can see how much comes out. My car burns damn near zero oil in between changes.

I checked my invoice from last year's oil change at the dealership and it showed they replaced one copper ring so they only drained about half of the oil, yet they charged me for 9 quarts. Hope this helps!

Since it wasn't posted here, the best $$ value for Mobil 1 0W40 oil is at Walmart. Five quarts for about $25. Occasionally Mobil will have a promotion, and you can buy 5 quarts (maybe two 5 qt jugs, I've forgotten) for less than $20 each.

Having changed the oil in my SL55 3 times since purchase, I do not understand how the vacuum can drain the oil that is in the front of the two portions of the oil pan. I am fortunate to have a 2 post asymmetric lift, so my car is level when the oil is drained. Seems that if I drain the rear area via removing the rear drain plug first, at least a quart comes out the front plug when I remove it.

I got 9.5 quarts of oil out of the two drain plugs...probably 3/4 quart or more out of the front/side AFTER the rear quit draining.

Vacuum method can't get all of the old oil out

Post deleted, redundant.
